Giant-Ass Rock Crawler in the Mickey Thompson Booth
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
You want articulation? We got your articulation right here! I walked past the rock crawler in the Mickey Thompson booth like ten times yesterday, and I still couldn’t get over how massive it is. I mean, I’m six three, and it’d be a bitch for me to climb in. It looks like the kind of vehicle wimpy little crossovers dread seeing in a dark alley. More pics after the jump.

Bad-Ass Little Samurai Tears Up the Dirt
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
One of my favorite pieces of motorcycle advice has always been “keep it shiny side up.” And while it’s not really related to the clip of this bad-ass little Suzuki tearing up the dirt, it totally popped into my head when I was watching it. How cool is it when it recovers from being on its side?

Can You Have Too Many Collector Vehicles?
By Sam Barer
Sam Barer
How could I refuse? I bet if you were in my shoes you wouldn’t have been able to walk away!
The long and short of it is that a friend of mine wanted to get rid of his 1979 Chevy K10 Silverado for about what I have into the tune-up parts on Sound Classics’ Infamous Craigslist Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 project. Despite having little room left for anything larger than Vern Troyer in the Sound Classics garage, I was like Angelina Jolie at an orphanage: I simply couldn’t say no.
The trump card is that Sound Classics is truckless. Ever since the POS 1998 Ford Expedition was pawned off to the dealer in 2006 when I got the new Toyota Avalon, all treks to acquire project cars have relied upon mooching off friends with rigs. Even my wife mentioned it was time to find a “good old truck”.

This is funny, cause last week I sent this pic to Katherine, who is determined to buy an Opel GT in the near future. This star-spangled Opel GT has a 1985 CJ7 Jeep frame and a 1978 CJ5 Jeep drivetrain. More pics and details at eBay. Via Jalopnik

Could Have Been Much Worse: 4×4 Hits Two Guys
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Every guy shooting wants to get as close to the action as possible, but something tells me the dude manning the camera here has invested in a zoom lens. He takes a pretty hard lick from the business end of the burly 4×4, but at least he’s knocked out of the way. The guy I was worried about? The one that gets run over immediately afterward. The way the truck is bouncing made me think the worst, but fortunately, he climbs out from under the rig unharmed. Given that the driver just keeps going like nothing happened, I have to wonder if he knows how close he came to killing somebody.

Land Rover Shows Off Climbing Ability
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Even though I don’t think I’ll ever own an SUV, I have to say I love Land Rovers. And if I ever wound up with one of those British beefcakes in my garage, I’d make sure that it got plenty of time to play in the mud. Now, I know there’s no mud in this clip, but I still found the way this baby was able to navigate such a steep incline pretty impressive, and can’t stop thinking about what it must have looked like inside the vehicle during the accent. I guess the driver would have to screw up pretty bad to tumble off the scaffolding, but still, it seems pretty hairy.

In Russia, Vehicle Amphibious… Oh, Forget It.
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
As you can imagine, CarDomain HQ is absolute temple of professionalism. Just kidding. We go through HR people faster than we do coffee filters. And some of the juvenile jokes we like best are the In Russia, Noun Verbs You variety. But I couldn’t think of anything funny to say about the Aton Impulse VIKING. Now, it’s not like I’ve never seen an amphibious vehicle before, but I’ve never seen one where the tires act as pontoons and actually propel it! How sick does it look to see all four wheels churning water? Even the Xterra-on-steroids styling is awesome. In the States, I can see this being used as an off-road toy, but if you’ve ever seen a Russian road, you can bet there will be a robust market for it domestically.

Rausch Creek Off-Road Park
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
The whole four-wheel-drive thing is weird. If you’ve never been bombing through the woods or on trails with a 4×4 before, you think nothing of it and kind of dismiss it. The first time you actually do it, though, it’s as bad an automotive addiction as any form of racing.
There are lots of places to go to exercise your 4×4’s prowess but if you are on the East Coast and want to check out a killer park devoted to wheelin’ madness, you need to check out the Rausch Creek Off Road Park in Tremont, Pennsylvania. Continue readng at BangShift.com

New Interco Gumbos
By Rob Einaudi

Ok, so they are not exactly new, but they are new to Isaac, and only set him back $100 for the set. And they only rub the fenders of his his 1977 Ford F-150 4×4 a little…
