Top Ten Vehicles That Need to Come Back

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Most of these vehicles should never have disappeared in the first place, but all of them need to come back. Now. Let me know what you think of my list. What did I miss?

Ford Bronco

I really don’t know what Ford is waiting for. Seems like a no brainer to me.

See the rest after the jump!

Samurai 510

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, last weekend’s Cars & Coffee event had a large showing of old school Nissans. There were a few Skylines imported from Japan, a couple 240Z’s, and a few Datsun 510′s – one of which really caught my eye. It looks like this particular 510 has been built with a mix of tuner car and retro elements, and surprisingly, it works. Continue reading at Speedhunters

KEI Paddock 510

Car Culture At Large

The aggressive, modern style aero and big wheels might not be everyone’s taste, but I think Kei Paddock’s NA SR20-powered 510 Bluebird project car is rad. Spotted the Fukuoka Custom Car Show in Feburary.

Bluebird SSS at Flex Auto Yokohama

By Antonio Alvendia

Antonio Alvendia

Ever since we started the Motor Mavens blog, I’ve been so busy that I haven’t really had much time to cruise the web like I used to. However, there are a few sites that I try to check once in a while, because I really like the content. Al’s Car Stuff Blog is one of the very few sites that I see that consistently posts up cars that I like! I don’t know much about Al or his background, but seeing these photos of this Nissan/Datsun KP510 Bluebird 1600 SSS on Al’s blog brought me back to a Japan trip I took several years ago.

Back in 2004, I went to visit D1 driver Takahiro Ueno and his shop, Sui Vax in Yokohama, Japan. I was doing a feature photo shoot on Ueno and his shop for Modified Magazine at the time, so I spent the whole day hanging out in Yokohama. When I told him how crazy I was about Japanese nostalgic cars, he said he knew a shop that I would love, and he wanted to take me there. That shop was Flex Auto Review – they restore and sell Japanese classic cars! Ueno was absolutely right. I flipped out when we got there! AWESOME. (I was kind of embarrassed afterwards, because I was so obviously excited when I was walking around Flex Auto… and I didn’t quite show the same level of excitement when I was hanging out at Ueno’s shop earlier that day. Oops, my bad.) Continue reading and view more photos on MotorMavens!

By Rob Einaudi

BP

This week’s winner is entry # 1886, a beautiful Datsun 510.

This is my baby. 1972 Datsun 510. I have been wanting one of these since I could drive. My dad has had two dozen Datsuns since 70 and I caught the bug early on as well. We do all of our own work including paint. The car has been meticulously built with utmost care and I need to continue that tradition with the fuel she guzzles. only the best for my baby :)

Enjoy your $250 in free gas!

There are still more chances to win, so if you haven’t already thrown your hat into the ring, make sure to enter the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest!

Grassroots Motorsports on Adam Carolla

By Rob Einaudi

For anyone who doubts that Top Gear USA host Adam Carolla is a real car guy, check out this article that Grassroots Motorsports published back in 2004 on Adam and his BRE replica Datsun 510 and RS replica Porsche 911. Those are some pretty sweet old school rides!
