High Class Street Racing!

By John Coyle

Street racing isn’t any less idiotic when the cars involved are high-dollar exotics, but it does make it a lot cooler to write about. Case in point? This battle between a Bugatti Veyron and a Ferrari 599, which occurred in traffic on a busy highway in the UK. Apparently, the cars battled for over ten minutes and hit more than 130MPH. The driver of the Veyron got tagged by the cops, but the Ferrari driver managed to get away. Guess not having a license plate comes in handy. Get the full story over on the Sun

Ferrari 599 Goes Up in Flames

By John Coyle

From the tone of this Autoblog post, you’d think seeing one of Maranello’s stallions go up in flames is as rare as seeing a Hell’s Angel at the Nutcracker. But I’ve always thought that exotic Italian iron and engine fires go together like peanut butter and chocolate. Am I on crack? Anyway, at the time of the blaze, the 599 was in the hands of a UK repair shop, which unfortunately had to explain to its owner that the half-million dollar set of wheels is now, literally, toast. Glad I didn’t have to make that phone call…

Ferrari 599 Causes Mob Scene!

By John

Community Editor

Back home in Seattle, the Ferrari dealership is only a couple of blocks from my house, and I go there all the time. The funny thing? In all my trips there, I’d never seen a 599, and judging from the mob scene at the Goodyear booth, I’m not the only one. I honestly spent fifteen minutes trying to get a decent shot of this car, but the sheer number of folks drooling over it made getting one impossible. Fortunately, I snapped a few good ones when we were wandering around on Sunday. It doesn’t matter what angle you take on this car. From the rear, the side or the front, this 600 monster looks amazing. Jen and Rob didn’t think the interior was all that, but I thought it looked killer. Man, do I have to get rich!
