Hemmings Find of the Day – 1972 Honda 600

By Dan Strohl

Hemmings

What a ride! Just think if all the cool names this Honda (asking $6,450 or offers) will be bestowed with by your car buddies (are those lawn tractor tires?) during the first cruise night of the summer. Yeah, we know what you’re thinking – it’s the original Smart, but with real bumpers – which was the same thought the seller had, kindly scribed right in the description:

1972 Honda 600 Coupe – 600cc 2-cylinder, 4-speed manual, bumper guard, folding rear seat – The Original Smartcar! – Very Clean Driver – Fantastic Gas Mileage

Check out the shift linkage under the dash. And if blue isn’t your color, check out this other Honda 600 going to auction in California, also listed at Hemmings. See more pics at Hemmings

CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot: The Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3

So, let’s take a look at what happens when you take a standard, everyday German Sedan, stuff a huge engine under the hood from what is essentially a large limousine, and bring it to a performance-hungry market. Introducing the Mercedes Benz 300SEL 6.3.

VW-Powered Fiat 600 on eBay

By David

aka Highspeedhijinks

If you think this ride looks like a dune buggy, well, you’re half right. This 1959 Fiat 500 is now rolling on a shortened VW Bug chasis, and it’s powered by a potent 1600cc VW powerplant. The thing I find alternately impressive and confusing about this automotive love-child is its stance. While it’s a little high for a Beetle or Fiat, somehow, works. Personally, I think this concoction would make a great rush hour commuter. Current bid is at $1001.02 with a "Buy It Now" price of $7,500.
