Like the 9-X BioPower last year, the SAAB 9-X Air is a milky, transparent, and ethereal approach to the subject of transportation. The four-seat convertible is awash in backlit translucent surfaces that make the future seem less distant, or at least as close as a Swedish snowstorm. Although like the BioPower, the Air is strictly a concept (hello, masonite seats!), it’s executed in the same design language that should take over the product line. Should because what trickles down to production lately is not nearly as elegant or exciting as this.

AutoWeek named Saab’s 9-X Bio-Hybrid the best concept in Geneva, and the company threw it a splashy party for its debut on our side of the pond. While the folks behind this clip aren’t David Copperfield, this trick reveal is still pretty sweet. Check it out.

At the Geneva Motor Show, you can’t throw a rock without hitting some excruciatingly expensive exotic, so if you go, don’t throw rocks. Right now, our buddies from Road & Track are across the pond covering it, and from the looks of these photos, they’re having a blast. They sent us sick shots of all the hottest stuff on the floor—like the KTM X-Bow Dallara Edition pictured below—and they’re making editorial wish we weren’t stuck at CarDomain World Headquarters.
