In our latest showroom showdown the GT-R beat the 911S by about a 3 to 1 margin. I guess that’s not a huge surprise given the fact that the GT-R is so wicked fast. But I wouldn’t say we have a Japan bias on our site, because a few weeks back the BMW 1-series trounced the new STI. Stay tuned for another round next week. I thinking, maybe, Italian…

Nissan used the 911 Turbo as the benchmark for their new GT-R. But the 911 Turbo costs about $50k more than the GT-R. The GT-R is going to be priced a lot closer to the naturally aspirated 911 cars (though we expect people to be paying way above MSRP for a while). Obviously, with an extra 125hp, the new GT-R will run circles around the 911S on the track, but most people don’t drive their $80k cars on the track. So which would you rather have, the new GT-R, or a 911S?
