Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Countach Kit
I’ve noticed quite a few Lambo pics uploaded to the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest, but somehow I’m doubting that most were uploaded by their actual owners. This one (entry # 1487) is definitely legit—though it’s a kit. Still, I think it’s pretty cool. But then I had a Countach poster in my room in the 80s, too.
When I was growing up in the 80′s The lamborghini Countach was a poster that could be found on the walls of most teenage boys rooms. The car was an Icon and an image that said you had reached the top. At that age it was just a dream, Now at the age of 42 I finaly have the car. Well sort of .. I bought this custom built exotic because of the looks and because its powered by an American 1967corvette 327 V-8 . And I take very good care of it and that means only putting the best gas in it. BP

This Week's Amoco Ultimate Winner!
Honestly, I had nothing to do with this. I know FuryPaul from Moparts, and he has provided us with some great photos of the Retro Dealership at the All-Chrysler Nationals and the Bay Country Region VCCA Fall Blow-Out. So I was pretty stoked when I learned that the guys had picked his big C-body (entry # 1490) as this week’s Amoco Ultimate winner!
29 years ago, in 1979, I bought my first car: a 1967 Plymouth Fury III with a 383 and non-functioning factory air. Two years ago, I found this one on eBay and won it after a momentary lapse of impulse control. Same year, model, body style, power train and color! Cleaner and straighter than my first one, though, with only 76,000 original miles!
Enjoy your $250 in free gas, Paul!

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Studebaker Starliner Coupe
By John Coyle
Editor
Gorgeous cars are one thing—but I’m a sucker for a good story. And fortunately, I didn’t have compromise on either of those elements when it came time to write up this week’s Amoco Ultimate Favorite. I mean, this Starliner Coupe is an absolute knockout, and the story? Well, you can read that for yourself:
"In 2005 the US Post Office issued a series of stamps of American SportsCars of the 1950s. In the series was a 1953 Studebaker StarlinerCoupe—the same car that my parents had when I was a kid (we had the ’54 model). I had not even seen one in decades and just seeing it onthe stamp made me smile. To my amazement, when I did an internetsearch, many popped up—everything from rust buckets to show cars.Having recently lost both of my parents, the nostalgic tug was toogreat. I searched until I found this beauty and have spent the lastyear restoring it."
If you haven’t already checked out the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest, you definitely should! Who knows? You might even win something!

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Basketcase Chevy Nomad
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Well, this Nomad isn’t going to be winning awards at car shows any time soon, and this shot sure isn’t going to win any photography awards, but what can I say—nothing melts my heart like a basketcase rescue. So I figured that the owner of this rest-in-pieces Nomad, entry # 1467 in our Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It contest, deserved a special shout-out. Here’s what he says about it:
My two lifelong dreams have been to own a 1957 Nomad and to do a complete frame off restoration. Yes, it’s a basket case now; but a future dream come true deserves only the best.

Amoco Ultimate American LeMans Series Winner
Congrats to Chris, our first Amoco Ultimate American LeMans Series winner! Chris, who submitted entry #1022 and owns a sweet 350Z, will attend the American LeMans Series race of his choice!
I am 23 years old and Ive had this car for about a year and a half. It is a 2003 Pikes Peak White 350z. I have invested every penny that i can afford while paying for rent and student loans. It turns heads of all types from young to old. Which is why i do it. Not to win trophies or races but really give someone a little eye candy in their day. Its a Daily Driver no joke with full interior and exterior custom. I do autocross and local drift events as well. My Dad has been building Corvettes as a side project since I can remember. Hes a diesel mechanic that has worked 2 jobs for over 20 year.

Amoco Ultimate Week 15 Winner!
By John Coyle
Editor
Right now, the whole editorial team, our guest bloggers and our number one photographer are all in Vegas for SEMA, running around the halls trying to find the coolest stuff to blog about. And this week’s Amoco Ultimate winner shows exactly who we’re writing for. Check out what he had to say about his little Subie:
Here is my 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. I chose this platform because Iwanted something great for daily driving, but still fun and competitive atautocross and track events. The first generation Impreza provides the perfectplatform for this. Modifications include KYB AGX adjustable struts, COBB tuningintake and exhaust, front and rear strut bars, Rallitek rear sway bar, Subaru 4piston calipers, Hella driving lamps, Corbeau FX-1 Pro seat and other interiormods. During the summer it rolls on 17" Prodrive/OZ wheels and Falkentires, with Blizzak Revo-1′s on the stock wheels for winter.
Enjoy your $250 in free gas man! We’ll make sure to get plenty of pics of all the hot Subarus we see. Good luck next time you head out to the autocross!

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Sawzall Gran Fury Convertible
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Cutting the roof off a car to make it a convertible is always a bit sketchy, but the owner seems to have done it the right way, if you can say there even is a right way to do this kind of radical surgery. In any case, you have to hand it to him: the flamed, flat-black ’84 Gran Fury looks hot. Here’s what he says about it:
1984 Plymouth Gran Fury Police Special. The only four door convertible I bought this car in Cuba while stationed at the US Navy’s Guantamo Bay Naval Base. in my spare time, I welded the doors shut, cut the roof, flamed the front and added custom details like satellite CD and underhood neon. The vehicle was a former Base police patrol car and now serves as the local head-turner. This car deserves to win because it is a raw expression of the love for custom automobiles and a testament to what car folks will do even when on an isolated desert island.

Amoco Ultimate Week 14 Winner!
By John Coyle
Editor
Mitsubishi’s Evo is one of the best performing cars you can get for under 60 grand, but Corey wasn’t satisfied with the stock performance—just check out the laundry list of mods he’s posted on his Ride Page! And does that two-tone paint look sick or what? Here’s what he had to say about his wicked machine:
I have always had a passion of cars or anything that would take me some place fast. I purchased this 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 in 2004. It was originally silver with silver wheels, but by now you can see that it’s far from that. It’s my addiction, and my pride, and I put my money and time into it. That’s why I think that my Evolution is Worth it. I have to many parts to list. But have upgrades such as a GT30R Turbo upgrade, Stage 2 Cams, Full Exhaust, AMS ( fuel rail, intercooler, hard piping, intake), Brakes, methanol injection, Fidanza Clutch kit, flywheel, and cams. Thanks.
Enjoy your $250 gas card man—and try not to get into too much trouble with that bad boy! With the kind of performance you must be getting, keeping out of the slammer might be pretty tricky!

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Cutlass Supreme
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Hey, not everyone can be a winner. But there are a ton of awesome and hilarious rides in the Amoco Ultimate contest, so we decided to highlight some of our favorites. Like entry # 1226, a photochopped ’87 Cutlas Supreme. This Olds has a Chevy 350 under the hood, and sports custom upholstery and 17" Eagle alloy wheels. I bet it looks pretty wicked without the chop, too.

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Lambo-Door Neon R/T
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Ok, so a Neon R/T with Lambo doors might not be to everyone’s taste, but I just love this picture. Something about the total incongruity of a tuner’d-up Neon against the outdoorsy backdrop of rugged postcard-perfect moutain terrain just cracks me up. Plus, you’ve gotta give the owner Mitch some credit—he didn’t know anything about cars before purchasing this stock Neon, and what he’s done with it is impressive. Here’s what he says:
400HP Turbo Neon R/t. Custom is all about being different so I chose a Neon. I went into building this car with no previous nowlege about cars or motors. I paid for and did all the work on this car myself. It has full laptop programming for ign and and fuel, concert sound, and is a blast to drive. It has been in Modified Mag, and in Hot Import Nights several times. Hope you all enjoy.
There’s still a ton of prizes to give away in the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It photo contest, including free gas and trips to see the Le Mans races—and all you have to do is take a gorgeous picture of your ride! Enter here.
