Thinking About Selling Your Car? Check Out eBay Local Classifieds

By Ryan Porter

SEMA Photo Guy

When you want to sell your car you have to think about exposure. I doubt any of you would just put a For Sale sign on the window and call it good in this day and age. Of course not, we have tons of great resources that help you get rid of your car like your favorite forum, AutoTrader (various listing fees apply), eBay Motors ($125 when it sells) and now eBay Motors Local Classifieds, which is free! Yes, you can now list your car on eBay and get the increased exposure for free. On top of that, if you’re a buyer there are some cool things, too. Every car that is listed gets an AutoCheck score so you don’t have to pay for it. No other service provides this to you for every single car in the system.

Well enough of that. If you are in the market for a 2009 Audi A5 S-Line take a look at mine. It’s for sale on eBay Motors Local Classifieds! Maybe eBay will give me a badge to put on my ride page since it’s for sale!

Fireball’s “Cool Designs of the Week!”

By Fireball Tim

Hollywood Movie Car Design Master

Man, it’s been a crazy few days. Lots of cool cars have shown up (All in my driveway…. slight exaggeration, as in the driveway of the mind!) But, there are SO many doodads of coolness out there, it’s really hard to pick what gets the major super duper cool status of being one of of my CDW’s. (See, another acronym… I keep doing that for some reason.)

So, without further do doo… Feast in the pure bitchiness of the soul. Cars of heaven, direct to your door, yo.

1. THE AUDI LOCUS CONCEPT

Gorgeous, right. I mean, here’s a woman that knows your weakness. Although, most likely a 3D image, this Audi concept evokes style and charm with added sass. Like a woman who knows just how to get into that sweet spot of yours. ‘Course, dangling it first to get your attention until you melt like warm chocolate. Oooooo……

The 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI is Pretty Darn Fun

By DriverSide

The Website for Car Owners

Supercars are famous for being a lot like exotic snakes – if you’ve got enough cash you can own one, but you do so at your own risk. In either case, if you lose control for just a split second, you are going to get bit; though unfortunately no anti-venom in the world can quell the humiliation and financial ruin of a totaled supercar. Or at least that’s how it used to be, until the advent of the Audi R8.

Named after Audi’s five-time Le Mans winning prototype, the R8 may go down as the world’s first truly forgiving supercar. Its mid-engine balance and Quattro all-wheel drive make the relentlessly fast and immensely capable R8 astonishingly easy to drive at speed. And now they’ve gone and wedged a V-10 in it. Don’t get us wrong, the standard V-8 R8 was no slouch, but it hung out more in the Porsche 911 circle than it did with the supercar crowd. But now that it boasts 525 horsepower and a robustly exotic V-10 soundtrack, it has true supercar credentials. Inside, drivers enjoy typically stellar Audi build quality, not to mention the sound of that mid-mounted engine cranking away. Certainly people will find a way to wreck even this most tolerant of land rockets, but with such impeccable balance, grip and agility, they’re going to have to kick this snake pretty hard before it bites back.

Stupid Mutual Exclusivity Of The Day: Audi A8L Option Packages

By Sam Barer

Sound Classics

Back in the good old days of automobile purchase decisions, a buyer had a long list of options from which to choose. Seldom were any said options (aside from picking one engine over another) mutually exclusive.

When there was a case of mutual exclusivity, at least it made sense. I mean, c’mon, do you really need air conditioning with that selection of the high-compression solid-lifter race-spec L88 427-cubic inch engine on this ’67 Corvette you’re ordering, sir?

Flush Audi TT2S

By Speedhunters

Car Culture at Large

Unfortunately all my AWD features got used up during VAG month, so I’m going to show a couple FF cars in the coming weeks, just to break things up a bit. This TT isn’t AWD as Rod originally thought, but it’s still worth a look, as it sports a unique one-off body kit. The body kit is made in full carbonfiber and is original from Audi. Wesley, 23 year old owner of this car, is the first and only person in the world with this OEM certificated kit. The carbon kit was painted in white and… Continue reading over at Speedhunters.

GMG World Challenge Audi A5

By Speedhunters

Car Culture at Large

Just imagine that you’re a racing driver. On the weekends, you drive some of the most top notch Porsches all over the world, and at all the hottest tracks in the world. You’ve driven the likes of Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Spa-Francorchamps, Nürburgring, Laguna Seca, Sebring, Fuji Speedway, and Monaco in your racing career. But after a weekend of living at one hundred miles an hour, what car do you go home to? You need a car that is luxurious, smooth, classy, and has a air of high speed elegance to it. This Audi S5 modified by GMG Racing is a perfect candidate. Continue reading at Speedhunters

R35 Racing in GT1 at Silverstone

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Last summer, I spent some time covering the American Le Mans series, and obviously, I had a blast. Of course, there weren’t any R35s—are you guys going to freak if I call it a Skyline?—on the grid yet, so I was stoked to stumble across this clip of a weapons-grade version competing in the GT1 class at Silverstone. Now, I know that in American GT1, all-wheel drive isn’t allowed, so even Audi’s mighty TDIs are RWD. Of course, since this race was run over in the UK—where they use “tyres” instead of “tires”—the rules might be different. But regardless of whether Godzilla is pushing two wheels or all four, it totally owns the number 150 Corvette starting at 1:45. Enjoy.

“German Showa” Audi 80

By Speedhunters

Car Culture at Large

Although I’ve always kept my automotive tastes wide-ranging, I admittedly am a bit behind on European car culture. That means that this month will be both a challenge and a learning experience for me. Thanks to photographer Kevin Raekelboom and his archive of finely tuned Euro machinery we have an extensive library of VAG cars to feature, and to start the month I chose this 1977 Audi 80L owned by Matti Jongmans. Making Things a Little Brighter in an Old Audi

By Matt Wellumson

Neuwerks

Interior work on any car can be an intimidating prospect for almost anyone who dares to enter that territory. This is especially true for me when dealing with anything relating to electrical systems. With that in mind, having been annoyed by the lack of consistent gauge lighting, and the persistent glow of my airbag light, I decided to pull out the gauge cluster to resolve these problems in my Audi.

New Audi A4 TDI: 51 MPG Arriving Everywhere but USA

By Austin Knight

Gotadime

The new Audi A4 TDI is equipped with a nice little 2.0-liter four cylinder diesel that has the ability to achieve 51 mpg! The only problem is, it’s not going to be showing up in the US. The diesel is expected to push about 136 hp and still hit the 51 mpg mark. Not only can it do that, but if you sacrifice 2 mpg, you will have the option of getting one with a 6-speed manual transmission. It will also be available in the Avant format. So, my only question is, why can’t this German miracle make its way to our soil?

Sun Came Out Yesterday, Time For A Car Wash

By Ryan Porter

SEMA Photo Guy

The sun decided to come out yesterday afternoon so I raced home to get down on a car wash.  I’d been pretty upset that I hadn’t been able to wash it in nearly three weeks, so it was overdue.  Similar to my last wash, I used my new foam cannon and some other new wash chemicals that I got from the Chemical Guys.  As for my method, I’m piggybacking off what I’ve learned from Blake and the NorthWest Auto Salon guys when they did their 24 step car wash. See the products and more images after the jump!
