Can You Identify This Car?

By Austin Knight

In Round Six, multi-round winner Maffew guessed correctly with “MG Midget.” It seems that we’ve been having a bit of a spam filter problem, so from this point on, I will check the spam filters every round, just to be sure that I’ve got the winner correct. If you have filter problems, try adding “substance” to your comment, rather than just posting up your answer / guess (the filters like to block small comments).

Now, on to Round Seven. The first person to guess the car correctly based on the pic below is a true car nut! Remember, all you need is the make and model—not the year. Here’s photo seven:

This weekend, from June 19-21, I’ll be at the EMCO Gears Challenge at Mid-Ohio. I’ve attended this event for the past three years and every time, it’s been an absolute blast. You can find full coverage on Speed Channel, starting at 5:00PM Eastern Time, and I’ll be giving real-time updates on my twitter account during the event. Also, when I get back from the event, expect many pictures and a full write-up! Read more about the event after the jump.

Mon's Nimble Wagon

By Austin Knight

Gotadime

One thing that I love about CarDomain is the absolute diversity that you can find on these wonderful pages. Mon is a fellow car guy that lives in the Philippines and until I saw his gorgeous wagon, I thought that there was no such thing as an attractive Ford Escort. He really has brought this rare find back to life and since his winning of SOTW nearly a year ago, lots has changed around his well-built ride page. And not only does he have a beautiful car, but he’s one of the most friendly guys you’ll ever meet—the perfect CarDomain role model. Make sure that you head over to take a look at Mon’s 1972 Ford Escort Mark 1 Wagon.

Power Tour 2009: Somerset with The Fang Stang

By Austin Knight

Gotadime

Over 3,000 gorgeous Power Tour cars moved into Somerset, Kentucky on Thursday and we undoubtedly took the entire town over! At first, we got some serious rain, but by around 1:30 PM, the skies cleared up and it was an absolutely gorgeous day for the remainder of the time. Through the weather experience, I learned a small bit about the Power Tour participants—absolutely nothing stops them! While waiting out the rain, I cruised over the Wendy’s and sat in the window, watching the packs of classic cars go by. At first, I had a feeling that I should pack up and go home, but when I saw the guys in 60+ year old cars cruising into town like nothing was wrong, I knew that I should have no problem at all in my 2005 Mustang. And boy am I glad that I decided to stay! Read more about my awesome HRPT experience after the jump.

Can You Identify This Car?

In Round Five, Mini25 guessed correctly with “Panoz Esperante”. Also, as a small correction for Round Four, Klassic1 was the first person to guess correctly, but for some reason, his guess was blocked by our spam filters. His comment came in at 7:35AM on June 9th, which was nearly four hours before anyone even got close to getting things right. Congratulations Klassic1 and apologies for the mix-up with our filters.

Now, on to Round Six. The first person to guess the car correctly based on the pic below is a true car nut! Remember, all you need is the make and model—not the year. Here’s photo six:

In Round Four, it took you guys a little time, but Dudefromthenorth eventually guessed correctly, saying “Morgan Aero 8.”

In Round Three, the first guess was correct and LunarStrain walked away victorious after saying “Porsche 944.” This time around, it’s a bit trickier, but you guys should be able to get it pretty quick. Are You Participating in the Hot Rod Power Tour?

By Austin Knight

Gotadime

There’s been a whole lot of discussion about the HRPT going around these CarDomain halls and I myself am no exception. I registered The Fang Stang several months ago and we’ll be making our way to Somerset, KY this Thursday. Somerset holds the Somernites Cruise every month, in which the entire town shuts down for the 1,000+ cars that cruise in and enjoy the weekend of festivities, all in a friendly and car loving atmosphere. Now that they’ve become a stop on the Hot Rod Power Tour, Somerset is expected to fill up with over 3,000 cars in their biggest show in history and I literally can’t wait to be a part of this amazing event. So, are you participating in the HRPT? If so, make sure that you meet up with The Fang Stang and I in Somerset! Expect a full write-up about the event next weekend.

It looks like I really stumped you guys in Round Two, with the 1938 BMW 328. Yes, many good, close guesses were made, but none were on the money. In fact, nobody even went near the BMW name. But then again, only 80 were made and just 10 of those were exported to the USA, so you all are forgiven. Next time that I post up a very difficult car, a hint will be given, such as the year it was made or a random fact about the car. Now for round three: TOPlamborghini suggested that we start using photos of CarDomain member cars, so this time around, the car in the photo does belong to a fellow member. What If Hummer Built a Car?

By Austin Knight

Gotadime

Jon Sibal recently designed what he calls an HGT, which is a mix of a Hummer and a Camaro. The rendering he did was absolutely stunning—so stunning, in fact, that Andre Mulyadi of Signal Auto picked up the design and decided to build one in real life! Pictures of the finished product after the jump.
