Thank you, Shelby Super Cars. Thank you for ending our long national nightmare (explanation below):
- The New England Patriots got caught spying so they had to give up a first round draft pick and were fined $750,000, all told. McLaren got busted for spying on F1 rival Ferrari and got hit with a $100 million fine, plus they got docked all their points in the Constructors Championship (when your drivers are running 1-2 in the points race, that hurts). The lesson here: If you’re going to cheat, cheat at football: BBC Sport
- Honda is recalling approximately 200,000 vehicles from its 2006 and 2007 model years. If you’ve got a new Honda, you should probably get it checked at the dealership: Winding Road
- Testing in Germany raises the question, "Am I safer buying a car made in China, or a toy car made in China?" Science may never know: NY Times
- U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! The Veyron’s reign of terror as the world’s fastest production car is over. The fine folks at Guinness are busy confirming the SSC Ultimate Aero TT as the world’s fastest production car after it hit an average top speed of 255.83 mph right down the road from CarDomain HQ (no word yet on why our editors didn’t get to take a run at the record): Autotrader.co.uk

While watching football last night, I got a heavy dose of the new Hyundai marketing campaign, and I have to say, I found it way less annoying than the "this is our country" spiel. Anyway, here’s the news:
- Kia says the future is here, today. By "here" I mean "Frankfurt" and by "future" I mean "strange looking car." Enjoy: Winding Road
- The BBC found six more reasons that I’m not a Formula One driver. Surprisingly, none of them have anything to to with my driving ability: BBC Sport
- There’s a feel good article in Detroit Free Press today that doesn’t do anything to make me want to buy a Ford, but it does make me want to want to buy a Ford. That’s something, right? Freep
- It looks like there are going to be plenty of plug-in hybrids on the roads in the next couple years. Don’t worry though, most of them will be way more expensive than normal cars: LA Times

Somebody should make a law against newspapers putting a headline about senior citizens having sex on the front page. That is what I started my day with and so far it’s ruined two meals for me:
- Bill Murray is hilarious, even when he’s getting pulled over for DUI. He was caught driving drunk in a golf cart in Stockholm: Jalopnik
- In the 1990s, GM "killed the electric car." Now it’s got big plans for electric power, setting expectations that it will build 60,000 in the first year of production: Bloomberg
- My F1 driving dreams were finally crushed when I read an interview on BBC that says you need "funding" and "talent" to race an F1 car. I was planning on getting by on heart: BBC Sport
- Car shoppers are watching crash test videos as part of the buying process. If you’ve got some stocked away, why not throw them up on CarDomain Video? DetNews
