Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Blue Taco
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I love this pic and story from entry #2066:
I worked for a hot air balloon company that took part in a car show over the summer. After the show my blue Taco and balloon basket got to cruise to the local ice cream parlor with the other hot rods. Our balloon may burn at 15 million BTUs, but that orange rod is HOT!

This Week’s Amoco Ultimate Winner
This week’s winner is entry # 2030. And no, he didn’t win just cause he has an Ariel Atom. He won cause it’s car #007 and cause he’s drag racing jets!
Since I was a kid ,I loved cars and racing. Octane runs thru my veins. So it only made sence to own the fastest accelerating production vehicle made in America! This is my 2006 Ariel Atom, #007. With a awesome Ecotec S/C motor producing 300HP my atom will launch from 0-60mph = 2.5 seconds. How about 0-100mph-0=10.5 seconds! All I have to do is filler her up with Amoco Ultimate! For 2009 , we will be racing a F-18 from 0-100mph…..who will win?

This Week’s Amoco Ultimate Winner!
This week’s winner is entry # 1886, a beautiful Datsun 510.
This is my baby. 1972 Datsun 510. I have been wanting one of these since I could drive. My dad has had two dozen Datsuns since 70 and I caught the bug early on as well. We do all of our own work including paint. The car has been meticulously built with utmost care and I need to continue that tradition with the fuel she guzzles. only the best for my baby

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Mazda B2000
From the blades of grass in the foreground to the crumbling shingles on the roof in the background, every part of this photo screams pick-em-up-truck. I’ve never been drawn to the redneck aesthetic before, so I don’t know why I like this photo so much. Maybe it’s because it communicates what the owner, Tyler H., has to say about his 86 Mazda B2000:
"I know its a work in progress but I have slaved away at this truck for many many hours, there is alot of love & blood put into this truck."
It shows, Tyler. I love your truck!

Amoco Ultimate November Winner!
The November prize goes entry # 1769. Did you even know that Sears sold cars?
My car is a 1952 Sears Allstate. That’s right. A Sears & Roebuck car. About 2,300 of these were sold at Sears over a 14 month period so it is very rare today. At last count, there are about 25 of them left on the road today. Mine has been updated with modern equipment. New automatic transmission, front end, wiring, A/C, steering and, of course, the engine. I use Amoco gas in this baby. If you are going to update all your other equipment to 21st century technology, you have to use the most advanced gasoline on the market too. Amoco and Sears — Two Great American Companies.
Enjoy your $1,000 in free gas, Dave!

This Week’s Amoco Ultimate Winner!
This week’s winner is a bike! Here’s entry # 1703.
Not only is my car worth BP Ultimate, but my BIKE is! My Italian piece of art is a 1971 Moto Guzzi Ambassador 750, which was painstakingly restored to original showroom condition back in 2003. It looks like new, and to keep it running like new I use only BP Ultimate 93 octane. No pings, no knocks, just smooth acceleration each and every ride. The bike is now 37 years old, and BP is going to help me make sure it’s still running in another 37 years!

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Nice Burnout
Entry # 1237 shows how it’s done.
I have been in love with horses ever since i was a young boy and told myself that ever since i will start driving my first car will be one with a horse symbol. Keeping in mind the Ferrari was out of the question, I fell in love with the body style of 99-04 Mustangs. My first car was and is a Satin Silver Ford Mustang GT that I will never get rid of! Consindering I am 20 yrs old, I plan onto adding performance and suspension mods as i pursue my college and job career! Is it worth it? Of course it is! Why? One of the reasons is that because my mom said so.

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Rat Rod CRX
I’m really loving entry # 1284, a rat rod CRX.
Bought this car from a guy that was taking it to a scrap yard. I payed $800 for it and started restoring it. After three years its almost done. I did a 95 del sol motor swap then turboed it with a homemade turbo kit I put together. Its making just over 200HP and is a blast to drive on the street.

This Week’s Amoco Ultimate Winner!
I love the car and the photo is incredible. Here’s entry # 1559.
It’s not hard to explain… ever since I was a kid I wanted a second generation Camaro. These days, I get to drive around in my dream car. From the laden streets of Detroit to the Pacific Coast highway in California; this car has torn up roads and deserves nothing but the best… Especially when it comes to gas. that’s why I fill up with bp, to keep the rebuilt 390hp V8 running smooth. That’s why she’s worth it.

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Countach Kit
I’ve noticed quite a few Lambo pics uploaded to the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest, but somehow I’m doubting that most were uploaded by their actual owners. This one (entry # 1487) is definitely legit—though it’s a kit. Still, I think it’s pretty cool. But then I had a Countach poster in my room in the 80s, too.
When I was growing up in the 80’s The lamborghini Countach was a poster that could be found on the walls of most teenage boys rooms. The car was an Icon and an image that said you had reached the top. At that age it was just a dream, Now at the age of 42 I finaly have the car. Well sort of .. I bought this custom built exotic because of the looks and because its powered by an American 1967corvette 327 V-8 . And I take very good care of it and that means only putting the best gas in it. BP

This Week’s Amoco Ultimate Winner!
Honestly, I had nothing to do with this. I know FuryPaul from Moparts, and he has provided us with some great photos of the Retro Dealership at the All-Chrysler Nationals and the Bay Country Region VCCA Fall Blow-Out. So I was pretty stoked when I learned that the guys had picked his big C-body (entry # 1490) as this week’s Amoco Ultimate winner!
29 years ago, in 1979, I bought my first car: a 1967 Plymouth Fury III with a 383 and non-functioning factory air. Two years ago, I found this one on eBay and won it after a momentary lapse of impulse control. Same year, model, body style, power train and color! Cleaner and straighter than my first one, though, with only 76,000 original miles!
Enjoy your $250 in free gas, Paul!

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Studebaker Starliner Coupe
By John Coyle
Editor
Gorgeous cars are one thing—but I’m a sucker for a good story. And fortunately, I didn’t have compromise on either of those elements when it came time to write up this week’s Amoco Ultimate Favorite. I mean, this Starliner Coupe is an absolute knockout, and the story? Well, you can read that for yourself:
"In 2005 the US Post Office issued a series of stamps of American SportsCars of the 1950s. In the series was a 1953 Studebaker StarlinerCoupe—the same car that my parents had when I was a kid (we had the ‘54 model). I had not even seen one in decades and just seeing it onthe stamp made me smile. To my amazement, when I did an internetsearch, many popped up—everything from rust buckets to show cars.Having recently lost both of my parents, the nostalgic tug was toogreat. I searched until I found this beauty and have spent the lastyear restoring it."

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Basketcase Chevy Nomad
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Well, this Nomad isn’t going to be winning awards at car shows any time soon, and this shot sure isn’t going to win any photography awards, but what can I say—nothing melts my heart like a basketcase rescue. So I figured that the owner of this rest-in-pieces Nomad, entry # 1467 in our Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It contest, deserved a special shout-out. Here’s what he says about it:
My two lifelong dreams have been to own a 1957 Nomad and to do a complete frame off restoration. Yes, it’s a basket case now; but a future dream come true deserves only the best.

Congrats to Chris, our first Amoco Ultimate American LeMans Series winner! Chris, who submitted entry #1022 and owns a sweet 350Z, will attend the American LeMans Series race of his choice!
I am 23 years old and Ive had this car for about a year and a half. It is a 2003 Pikes Peak White 350z. I have invested every penny that i can afford while paying for rent and student loans. It turns heads of all types from young to old. Which is why i do it. Not to win trophies or races but really give someone a little eye candy in their day. Its a Daily Driver no joke with full interior and exterior custom. I do autocross and local drift events as well. My Dad has been building Corvettes as a side project since I can remember.
