Buick Regal Convertible?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Or how about a coupe? Buick is trying to make their brand more youthful, and Car and Driver thinks coupe and convertible versions of the Regal are a real possibility. What do you think? Should Buick do it? Would they be a success? More at Car and Driver

Car and Driver Article on Unintended Acceleration
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Yes, even a 540 hp Roush Mustang at WOT will brake to a stop, but the best thing is to just shift into neutral if you ever experience a stuck throttle. Read the full story at Car and Driver.

What Is Your Favorite Generic Car Magazine?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I’ve subscribed to Road & Track all my life, but tend to only read Car and Driver, Motor Trend and Automobile at airports or in doctor or dentist waiting rooms. Looks like Car and Driver is getting some minor tweaks with Eddie Alterman at the helm. Anyway, I’m curious, which is your favorite generic car mag?

Chevy II Gasser Owner Pissed Off at Car and Driver
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Car and Driver recently ran a feature article on the BMW X6 M where they took the new Bimmer off roading, road racing and drag racing. One photo in the article appears to show the Bimmer pulling ahead of an altered wheelbase 63 Chevy II at Milan Dragway. A close look at the photo shows that it is clearly Photoshopped. Well, the Chevy owner is pissed, and has posted on the H.A.M.B. and the Car and Driver forums. And he doesn’t mince words.
Buddy called a coupla days ago kinda laughing asking me when did you get your doors blown off by a suv,I thought he was kiddin me. I know this world is messed up but WHY try to decive the public? Alls I can say is the mag, editors and writers are LAIRS,CHEATERS and WANNA BE SCAMMERS.
Bring that ol bmw out, title fer title and write an artical bout that.
I’ll be driven around in a little red suv.
No wonder the only time i see that mag is in the doctors office, makes me sick.
Keep in mind that the Chevy runs the quarter in high 9s @ 135 mph while the Bimmer covers the quarter 12.8 seconds @ 110mph. A bit of a difference, huh? So does the Chevy owner deserve to be angry? Does Car and Driver owe him an apology for altering the photo? Thanks for the tip, Tim!

Car and Driver's Best Cars for $20K
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I’m generally a fan of Car and Driver, but I thought their recent list of the best used cars for $20k was lame. No offense to people who own any of these cars, but with the exception of the EVO, none of their picks would be on my list of rides to look at for $20k or less. Here’s my list, which I cooked up in less than three minutes. I kept it to fairly late model stuff, otherwise you’d see a ’69 Road Runner on here. I also didn’t bother with any new cars (the Car and Driver list had two) or trucks or SUVs.
S197 Ford Mustang GT, Dodge Magnum SRT8, Chevy Corvette C5, Porsche 993, BMW e46 M3, Nissan 350Z, Infiniti G35, Subaru WRX STi, Mitsubishi EVO IX, Mazdaspeed3.
So what’s your list?

2010 Chevrolet Camaro V-6 LT vs. 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe 3.8 V-6
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Yeah, I know, I didn’t do a Showroom Showdown this week. But Car and Driver just did a comparo between the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro V-6 LT and the 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe 3.8 V-6. The Camaro won by a hair. Read the article and then tell us what you think!

Eddie Alterman to Car and Driver!
Atomicalex
Ok, so secrets are getting hard to keep these days, but this one was so poorly disguised that it’s hard to even bother calling it one. Jalopnik called out Eddie, formerly of Motive and MPH, as a candidate for the Car and Driver job last December, and I personally made a few calls to track that down. The denial on tap was more like the Mississippi than a certain river in Egypt. While Eddie and I don’t see eye to eye on automotive writing a lot of the time (I’m not a 16YO male, FWIW), he’s certainly a solid candidate for the role, and he’s at least put some time in on the web. I wish C and D the best of luck for the future, and Eddie, don’t forget that your audience at Car and Driver is broader than the old MPH demographic.
