CarDomain Launches New Parts and Brands Pages

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

CarDomain has always been about people who modify their vehicles. We have over 900,000 rides with over 4 million installed parts from over 800 brands. But until now you couldn’t really see how they all tied together.

So here’s how it works. Go to edit your ride page, then click “Install Parts” in the left nav. If you already have installed parts listed for your ride they will show up here but without any data or pics (and if you don’t have installed parts listed you will have to add them). Click on the part you want to document and then add the price, install time and date. Add a short summary of your install and upload some pics. Then hit Save.

New: Filter By Trim Level!

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

We’re working to make it easier to find what you’re looking for on CarDomain. Do you like Mustangs but mostly just want to see 5.0 Fox bodies? Now you can filter by trim level to just see LX 5.0 Liter Hatchbacks or Sedans. Since this is brand new, it’s going to take a while for members to go in and indicate the trim levels of their rides, but going forward we think this will make for a much better browsing experience. So please be sure to update the model and trim info for all the rides in your garage. You will find this under the Vehicle Info tab when you are editing your ride.

Oh, and if you haven’t seen your member lobby lately, check it out!

CarDomain’s People’s Choice 2009 Winners

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

This year’s People’s Choice was a hard fought battle. BFG, Mobil and BBS repeated their victories from last year. Best exhaust was a very tight race between Borla and Magnaflow, with Magnaflow winning in the end by just a few votes. But the biggest fight by far was for Showoff of the Year, which extended beyond CarDomain and out to the forums. Terry’s awesome 240Z took an early lead, but in the end the Mustang community came through big time and delivered a victory to the very worthy ChevyKiller. Congrats to all the winners, and thanks to everyone who voted!

1. Best Tire Manufacturer: BFGoodrich

2. Best Motor Oil: Mobil

3. Best Suspension Upgrade: Eibach

4. Best Wheel Manufacturer: BBS

5. Best Exhaust Manufacturer: Magnaflow

6. Best Place to Buy Parts: eBay

7. Most Exciting Enthusiast Vehicle Lineup: Nissan

8. Best Video Game: Forza 3

9. Best StreetFire Video: Ken Block’s Gymkhana Two

10. Showoff of the Year: ChevyKiller
