Donte Stallworth Gets 30 Days for DUI Death
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
When you’re a celebrity, things are different, I guess. If he wasn’t wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, something tells me Stallworth would have gotten something closer to the 15-year maximum. Read the whole story over on the Associated Press site.

Paul Newman Runs Some Last Laps at LimeRock
By John Coyle
Editor
In addition to being a great actor and an incredibly generous philanthropist—all the proceeds from his Newman’s own products go to charity—Paul Newman is also a talented race driver. Unfortunately, 18 months ago, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and apparently, he doesn’t have much time left. But that didn’t stop him from hitting the track at LimeRock last week in his GT1 Corvette! Check out a few pics of his #80 car on the circuit after the jump, and head over to the Early911Registry forums for some great stories about a real class act.

Angelyne
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Yesterday I wrote about the super cool Andrew Bush photos of people in their cars, mostly taken in Southern California during the 80s and 90s. One of the stranger photos was of the woman below in the Pepto Bismol Vette. I assumed she was a drag queen, but then it was pointed out that this is the famous Angelyne, who used to be seen on billboards all over the LA area. She was also a candidate in the 2003 California recall election, and placed 28th out of 135 candidates. From this Flickr page it looks like she now has a C5 Vette.

Anthony Kiedis Pulls a Britney in a GEM
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
We don’t do a whole lot of celebrity stuff here, but I thought this was too hilarious. I haven’t seen the Red Hots since before Hillel died, but admit I continue to be something of a fan. But come on, Anton! I assume the GEM doesn’t have an airbag, but still, this seems pretty sketchy. Not to mention that these things regularly burst into flames. One more pic with Perez Hilton scrawling after the jump.

Matt Damon! How Come He Gets A Tesla?
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Like a page right out of the script for Tokyo Drift (know-nothing white guy who gets showered with cars, tires, and money by strangers for absolutely no reason at all), actor Matt Damon somehow managed to get handed a prototype Tesla in which to tool around LA. Are we jealous? Yes. A writer from Autofiends caught up with Damon outside a Studio City coffee shop, where actor explained that the light blue roadster is an earlier prototype with the 2-speed tranmission—the one that’s been giving Tesla so much trouble that they decided to throw it out and scramble together a new driveline for production cars. And yes, only the high gear works, so off-the-line accelleration is kind of flabby. Despite all this, Damon says he’s still gonna get one for the permanent collection. And meanwhile, The Truth About Cars considers Matt Damon’s endorsement to be a sign of Tesla’s imminent demise. Click below the jump for all the pics!

Michelle Pfeiffer in Daisy Dukes, with Hemi
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
Check out these promotional shots for a short-lived 1980 TV series called B.A.D. Cats (B.A.D. stands for "Burglary Auto Detail"). There are a few clips from the pilot on YouTube. These photos were probably taken shortly after the first episodes of Dukes of Hazzard had aired, so Daisy Duke may have inspired Pfeiffer’s outfit (and her co-stars look kind of like Bo and Luke). Michelle Pfeiffer didn’t get famous until she starred in Scarface in 1983. See the rest of the promo shots for B.A.D. Cats after the jump (most likely taken at Ascot Park Raceway in Gardena, California, which closed down in 1990).
