Long Forgotten Pro Street Camaro Gets a New Lease On Life In Panama

Back in May you may remember we came across a snapshot of a Pro Street style Camaro just laying unattended to down in Panama. While it peaked our interest quite a bit, it’s location, current state and the odds of its survival led us to believe the Camaro had just seen better days, and likely wouldn’t be moving under its own power anytime soon. In other words, we thought it was a goner. Well, a short time after that all the forums blew up with everyone on the hunt for more info on the car. To our surprise, after a few months of rumors and ideas circled around the car, we got word that the car was indeed getting a second chance to make not another, but its first pass down the 1/4 mile.

It takes a lot to shock me after working at CarDomain for four years, but this 1994 Camaro on eBay blew me away. Sadly the pics aren’t too big or too great, but I’ve got tons more after the jump!

This incredible Rev Angel 300HP V-8 Exotic Replica Supercar was meticulously designed and handcrafted (light strong metal, not heavy fiberglass!) to resemble million dollar exotic supercars, without the costs, maintenance, repairs, insurance, etc.!!! It has a V-8 (300 HP- with the included intake plenum similar to the one pictured) LT-1 Chevy Engine with only 36,000 original miles which was replaced 95 miles ago!!! Also replaced recently (within the year) was the alternator, starter, and battery. It has a current safety inspection and emissions sticker and the title is free and clear.

This car will peal and smoke the tires from a stand still. It will virtually beat any tuner car, fiero replica, older corvette’s or so called muscle cars. The rear wheel track has been widened by 4 inches with wheel spacers to accomodate the widebody styling. The interior is a sporty stock Camaro Z-28. Side windows have been tinted with removable 20% VIS. The dash is cracked (easily fixed by a $35 dash cover) and the driver side seat bolster is torn (but can easily be fixed by some seat covers). The lights and electrical work and the A/C blows, but it needs a recharge (the heater works great).

If you want Supercar looks (attention and compliments galore!!!) in a daily driver that you can have at a tiny fraction of the cost, this is the car for you! This is the time to do it, since financial situation warrants letting it go for very much less than desired! NO RESERVE!!! The winner will take this home!

Knowing how serious Viper owners and Corvette owners get when challenging each other to the title of Ultimate American Sports Car Ever, I probably shouldn’t step right into the middle of it by highlighting this Viper-bodied 1986 Corvette for sale on Hemmings.com. But I’m a sucker for punishment, so here it is. I can imagine the taunts from either side now: “The only way to make a Corvette look good is to rebody it as a Viper!” “The only way to make a Viper run good is to power it with a Corvette engine!” From the seller’s description:

This is a combination 1986 Corvette frame, engine and dash, combined with a 2000 Dodge Viper body. Thus, a VIPERVETTE. The engine is 5.7 liter with a 4 speed manual transmission. The exterior is all Viper and the interior, although color coded Dodge Viper red and black leather, it has Corvette seats and interior. Retroman Gets Quoted in Hot Rod

Our commenting system has been kind of jacked up here for, well, a while now. Don’t worry, we have a real fix this time, but it’s part of a larger, top secret project–just give us another week or so and all will be revealed. But we do appreciate those of you who manage to jump through all the various hoops necessary to comment on the blog, and we do read your comments. And it seems like other people read them, too. Like David Freiburger, Editor-in-Chief at Hot Rod Magazine. I opened up my November issue of Hot Rod last night (it’s November already?), skipped to Freiburger’s column, and there it was, in black in white: Retroman’s comment on Hot Rod’s Corvette hack. “Ok, so I understand that the C4 is like the Mustang II of Corvettes… It was the right car for the time, but hardly anyone wants one now.
