Hemmings Find Of The Day: 1966 Citroën 2CV Truckette
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
If indeed there are only 150 Truckettes like this 1966 Citroën 2CV Truckette in the United States, then I should count myself lucky: This is the third that I’ve seen in the last month, though the only one that I’ve seen recently in the Hemmings.com classifieds. From the seller’s description:
The Truckette was originally designed to be a commercial version of Citroen’s immensely popular 2CV. Perfect for the streets of urban France (especially Paris) where parking is tight, commercial vehicles are taxed by their size and larger vehicles are restricted from entering specific areas. During the late Fifties and throughout the Sixties and Seventies, the Truckette was the vehicle of choice of most butchers, bakers and candlestick makers throughout France. The Truckette also caught on with small families as the Truckette could be fitted with an extra rear seat and side windows. Very few, if any, Truckettes were imported by Citroen and almost all of the USA Truckettes currently in the USA were imported by Citroen enthusiasts! The Citroen Concours of America notes that there are only between 100 and 150 in the United States now!

To continue the French theme from yesterday, here’s proof it doesn’t take a lot of horsepower to have fun.

Hydropneumatics and Design Together in Pasadena
By Mike Bumbeck
Clunkbucket
There were more Citroëns than drivers on a Saturday morning. The task at hand was a good one. Settle into the plush appointments behind the steering wheel of a 1969 and-one-half Citroën iD21F Safari Wagon and drive. The mission was to get all cars on the move to the Pasadena Art Center College of Design for a gathering of Citroëns, and subsequent tour of the Art Center automotive design facilities. After a few tries at a recalcitrant starter button and a couple minutes of warming up for the DX21 hemi-head engine, the wagon was up on its haunches and ready to swallow the road ahead. The wagon we were driving belongs to one Andy Takakjian, who would be piloting his other DS - a 1969 and-one-half iD 19 Series B Sedan in green that would lead the way on the first leg of the safari. Destination? Pasadena. See more Citroëns and images over at Clunkbucket

Hemmings Find of the Day – 1972 Citroën 2CV
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
One wonders whether Emmett Kelly was still clowning around when he bought this 1972 Citroën 2CV at the age of 74. If so, interesting. If not, then does his ownership of it make it any more valuable than any other DeuxChevaux? Offered for $12,500 out of Frostproof, Florida. Continue reading at Hemmings

Fireball's Cool Designs of the Week!
By Fireball Tim
Movie Car Design Master
What is going on in this world? Ideas are merging, blending, taking shape, radically departing but staying the same. And that’s our world. Change.
Many people fear change. Maybe because it’s unknown. The question is, “What if you DID know the answer?” To everything? Would life be the same? Would you even be interested? Change is good. It keeps us on our toes, makes life adventurous, and forces us to have faith in things unseen.
Fortunately for you, you get to SEE this week’s designs. Some are wicked cool, some way not. But change is in the air, therefore, this week’s theme. Entitled?
CHANGE!…… DANGIT!
1. THE AUDI E- TRON ELECTRIC
Remember the Audi in “IRobot?” How could you not? It was in every DANG scene of the movie. Along with Will Smith’s beefy bod. (I had enough of that after the first scene… whatever) Well, Audi has taken their R8 and made it sweeter. Electric. And… Red. And red is good. Electric? Yea, that’s cool, but RED is cooler. Just think of RED things. Cherries. Megan Fox’s Lips. A stubbed toe. Ok,… maybe not the last one. But red is cool, dangit. (Check out the AutoDissection on the R8 here.)

Fireball's Cool Designs of the Week!
By Fireball Tim

Interesting items this week. Extremes. As in, this is really cool/God awful. And so, we play the field of design to see wus up. Technical stuff, I know. But what do you expect from me? Serious behavior?
IN THIS CORNER! WEIGHING IN AT A SHARP STEALTHY WEIGHT OF….
1. THE ASTON MARTIN SYMBIOSIS
Sick. Elegantly wrapped design a glassy liquid form. And if I were a bird, I’d target this one in a big way. Imagine the damage a seagull could create on this beast? It’d be like ARTPOO. Nice. Oh, although not too practical in the “I gotta buy more Windex now” category. Time to hit Cosco.

Sexiest Mirrors Ever
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
Yamauchi-san, the creator of Gran Turismo, is one of the greatest talents to ever impact the automotive world. His attention to detail and his talent at building the greatest automotive video game of all time is reason enough for me to respect him greatly. Yet Yamauchi-san keeps pushing the envelope and testing his skills. He recently designed a fully functional concept car for Citroen, based on the car that appears in the game. I’m not going to discuss the car as a whole–it’s already been all over the net. What I want to focus on is what is quite possibly the sexiest mirror design ever. How long until we can get these aftermarket?
These mirrors are brilliant!
