Maybe the designers were trying to distract people from the exterior? More at Jalopnik.

GTbyCITROËN Beams Down From Outer Space

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

That’s not a typo in the headline–GTbyCITROËN is all smashed together and capitalized, just to be extra super duper awesome. This joint venture between Citroën and the makers of Gran Turismo is blowing everyone’s minds in Paris. The car was created for the 5th game in the Playstation series, and apparently visitors to the Paris Motor Show can drive the car in a simulator at the Citroën stand. No word on whether or not this space age vehicle will ever fully make it to the real world. More pics after the jump, and you can see even more pics and read the press release over at Jalopnik.

Rugged Citroen Withstands China Quake. Sorta.

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

Following the terrible earthquake that devastated the Sichuan province of China this month, this crushed Citroen C-Triomphe was back on the road, running and driving. I imagine the handling is pretty jacked, and it’s definitely going to be having some right-rear tire wear issues in a hurry—but for now, hey, it’s transportation.

Chevy Mocks Citroen's "Transformers" Ad

By John Coyle

Editor

A few years back, Citroen ran a campaign where its C4 transformed into a dancing robot. The commercial is actually pretty dope, but I have to say I like the way Chevy mocks it in the spot below. While it’d be cool to have a car that could turn into a robot, if I was just trying to get home from work, all the break dancing would probably get annoying. via CarScoop

French Blasphemy

By Ralf

Chromjuwelen

Customizing isn’t that common over here in Europe. In fact, if you start channeling, chopping or even engine swapping with an "old timer" (the German expression for classic car) you will be universally derided. So you can probably imagine what  would happen if someone willfully executed a "goddess"
(or "La Desse"–what a Citron ID 19 is called over here). When Andrew produced some sketches of his project for the first time, traditional car collector enthusiasts nearly had a heart attack. To keep a long story short: Corvette LS1 engine, beefed-up independent suspension, all-around performance braking, custom Billet Specialties wheels, and the original front wheel drive has been switched to rear wheel drive. For more details check out his CarDomain ride page and his blog. I think it’s a-w-e-s-o-m-e. What do you think?

Cute Concept Alert: Citroën Nemo

By Jen

Editor

If you’re the kind of person who wants a car that resembles a Disney character, your day may soon come. On the upside, Citron’s Nemo Concetto concept, which made its debut in October at the Road Transport Show in Amsterdam, would make a great honorary member of KimberKenobi‘s awesome Theme Cars group on CarDomain. Thanks to Dave for the tip!

Totemobile

Here’s a recent creation by the Amorphic Robot Works art collective. Founder Chico MacMurtrie chose the Citron DS "because it is an icon for European cars, and I felt that the live qualities it represented (hydraulic suspensions, organic curvature, and mechanical ingenuity) were emblematic of the time." See all the pics of this car unfurling and extending all Transformers-like. There’s also a somewhat crappy movie on YouTube. And here’s a better one.
