Cadillac VSR

The other day I blogged about this cool computer rendering of a 21st-century hot rod. Yeah well, screw renderings–this one’s real! This car was designed for SEMA by GM Performance Parts and Race Car Replicas, and unlike the last hot rod I drooled over, this one is packing a proper drivetrain.  Under that long sleek bonnet lies a 6.0 liter (most likely the LS2) putting out a modest 400hp. In my opinion it doesn’t look as cool as the Delithium, but real beats rendered every time. Check out the rest of the gallery over at Jalopnik.

Sexiest Mirrors Ever

Yamauchi-san, the creator of Gran Turismo, is one of the greatest talents to ever impact the automotive world. His attention to detail and his talent at building the greatest automotive video game of all time is reason enough for me to respect him greatly. Yet Yamauchi-san keeps pushing the envelope and testing his skills. He recently designed a fully functional concept car for Citroen, based on the car that appears in the game. I’m not going to discuss the car as a whole–it’s already been all over the net. What I want to focus on is what is quite possibly the sexiest mirror design ever. How long until we can get these aftermarket?

Bo Zolland Delithium Concept

My favorite independent designer, Bo Zolland, has a flair for creating realistic automotive fantasies. Take his latest hot rod concept he calls Delithium (combination of Delerium and Lithium). Even though this “boat tail” speedster screams “I’m packing a big block V8,” Bo envisions his creation sipping instead of guzzling. More…
