Mark Martin To Run eBay Motors Paint Scheme

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

The No. 5 car’s new eBay Motors livery is pretty great in that it combines two of my favorite things–NASCAR and eBay–but what’s probably a little more cool from a free-stuff perspective is that eBay Motors is running a contest to get a fan VIP access to the October 24 race in Martinsville, which is generally a pretty spectacular race. Anyone who signs up for the contest on the eBay Motors Facebook page with their eBay user id will also get that id emblazoned on car, presumably crammed into that spot on the hood with all the other contestants. Either way, I can’t wait to see the eBay Motors car out on the track.

By Jen Dunnaway

CarDomain member James was selected as the first winner in the Castrol Edge Unlock Your Performance contest, and as part of the deal he got to make a video with his 4Runner and Matt Farrah. It turned out pretty awesome–and it’s amazing what he’s done with a base-model 4Runner. Take a look!

K&N Is Giving Away A 2010 Harley Street Bob

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

In conjunction with this year’s K&N Horsepower Challenge, our favorite filter company will be sending eight finalists to the races and then awarding one of them this ultra-bad brand-new Harley. The Horsepower Challenge will see the top eight NHRA Pro Stock drivers face off against each other in a series of eliminations. Each finalist K&N sends to the event will be assigned to a specific driver–and whoever’s paired up with the driver who wins the event will be the one who gets to take home the Harley. Talk about having a reason to root for your driver! Become a fan of K&N on CarDomain, and check out the K&N site to enter the contest.

Score a Ridealong With Burnout Winner Kevin Harvick

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

As part of the only-in-NASCAR pageantry leading up to the exhibition Showdown and All-Star races at Charlotte next month, Pennzoil is running a stock-car burnout contest at Charlotte Motor Speedway May 22. And this year, one crazed superfan will get to ride shotgun with former winner Kevin Harvick. The Penzoil Ultra Victory Challenge gives top Sprint Cup drivers the opportunity to demonstrate the art of roasting tires in a 30-second “freestyle burnout,” though this year they also get the chance to earn extra points for knocking things over (yep, you read that right) while in full-on victory donut mode. I caught part of the spectacle on TV last year, and it was pretty cool–obviously not as wild as those anarchic Australian burnout comps where they peg the motor until everything blows up, but it’s cool to see top-tier NASCAR drivers engaging in some seriously goofy hijinks as part of the sport’s official proceedings. Check out Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Facebook page for updates, and the official contest page here!

Here's the Winner of the E3 Spark Plugs Plug and Play Contest!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

One of the reasons that everyone at CarDomain and StreetFire works so hard to cover SEMA is that it’s a trade show, and not open to the public. You either have to be a member of the media or an employee of a vendor to get credentials and as you can probably tell from all the stuff we posted, the show floor is just littered with ridiculous hardware. So in the interest of getting one of our members into to see the circus, our buddies over at E3 Spark Plugs threw a contest where the grand prize was status as an honorary E3 employee. Joseph Porter was the lucky guy, and E3 flew him to Sin City, got him a badge, put him up in a hotel, gave him some walking around money, and showered him in SEMA swag. He had a blast at the show, check out this pic of him in the E3 booth! Big thanks to E3 and everyone who entered!

August Castrol GTX Winner!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Congrats to Keith, the the latest winner of our “Castrol GTX How Do You Keep Your Car So Clean?” contest! Here’s what he had to say about his ride:

I touch every part, from bumper to bumper, inside and out. Every inch of my baby is taken a part, wash, detailed, and put back together again. Keep it clean, it will last forever. After a complete rebuild, from body to custom motor, Castrol GTX is the only oil for my ride. Stays clean & performs better than any other oils out on the market, even with a custom turbo set up, and spraying over a 250 shot of nitrous.

Well said, Keith! If you haven’t already entered this contest, do it now! It’s easy and free and you could win up to $1,000.
