The Yella Brick Is Up For Auction!
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
The Yella Brick, the ’76 Cordoba that originally appeared in the blog as a Basketcase Rescue, has turned up on eBay looking for a new home. CarDomain member Dwaine has done some amazing things with this car, building it into a mean-ass LSR and open-road racer. And if the Yella Brick makes its reserve, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Good luck with the auction, man!

Basketcase Rescue: Cordoba Saved From Sinking Into Swamp
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Holden’s ’76 Cordoba sat on brand new wheels and tires for two years out in the woods after he bought it, but when it started sinking into the ground, he decided it was time to get around to restoring it. Pretty much everything you ever needed to know about rust repair and sheetmetal work is photodocumented on his epic ride page. Looks like this big bad cruiser is getting pretty close to done!

Racer Boy: Demolition Derby
By Rob Krider
Racerboy
So you want to get into motorsports, but the only thing in your driveway is grandma’s 1976 Buick stationwagon. You’re in luck. Knock the windows out of that bitch (the stationwagon, not your grandma) and head to the demolition derby.
Not only will you get the opportunity to cut off the exhaust system and enjoy the kick ass melody of an uncapped V-8, but you’ll get the chance for motorsports victory in front of a fairground stadium filled with drunk, derby fans. That’s right, you’ll be vying for glory in front of a paying and cheering crowd, try to find that at an autocross.
Demolition Derby is something YOU can do (and by destroying the car you’ll be saving the environment by ridding the world of another gas guzzling monster). To learn where, cost, car preparation, adrenaline factor and how to actually win a Demo Derby read the rest at Speed Sport Life.

Favorite Automobile Spokesperson: Chrysler's Corinthian Leather Front Man, Ricardo Montalbán
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
Welcome to the second installment of Your Favorite Automobile Spokesperson, here on CarDomain. After featuring the irreverent Joe Isuzu, I thought I would reach back to a person that simply oozes class. His career spanned over fifty years, and he was the front man for one of the most memorable automobile ad campaigns ever. Introducing the late, great, Ricardo Montalbán.

Basketcase Rescue: Chrysler Cordoba Racecar!
By Jen Dunnaway

Dwaine got a junk ’76 Cordoba for free, then let it sit for a period of several years. But when the time came to transform this promising project, he worked fast, gutting the interior and fixing the rust, installing a cage and a built 400 big block. He’s building it for open-road racing, and although he didn’t get the engine installed in time for this year’s Pony Express 130, he towed it down to Nevada anyway for tech inspection. The car won People’s Choice and passed tech, and later this month it’s going to be doing its first Bonneville 100, a hundred-mile race through the desert on closed highways. Stay tuned!
