2-Wheeling Corolla!
By Karan Singh

Toyota Corollas are known for being many things, but the ability to be driven on two wheels isn’t exactly the first of their attributes that come to mind. Watch!

There are a ton of really beautiful photos of Scott’s Corolla on his ride page, but this one rules because it shows that our gearhead brethren in New Zealand love taking pics of themselves getting jacked by the cops just as much as we do.

I think I speak for the majority when I say that I can’t get enough of Grant Scott’s AE71 Corolla. Here’s a nice little clip of the car set to the sounds of Hendrix.

Cressidas and Levins and Sprinters and Skylines, oh my! I was just clearing out some images on my Mac and transferring them to one of my terabyte drives when I stumbled upon these images I shot at the Japanese Classic Car Show last month. Before I transfer them to the HD archive and forget all about them for another year or so, I thought I’d just share some more pics of these awesome Japanese nostalgic cars! A Fine Day at the 2009 Sports and Exotic Car Show
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
We’re finding that Saratoga Springs, New York, is a rather ideal location for our annual Sports and Exotic Car Show, which we put on this past Saturday on the grounds of the Saratoga Auto Museum. This year, we utilized the big field between the museum and the nearby Gideon Putnam Hotel, and we were rewarded with an excellent turnout of some magnificent cars. As the featured marque, Alfa Romeos came out in force, but we also had representation from about a dozen other marques, including Allard, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Saab, Triumph, MG, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Datsun, Lotus and even a DAF. Look for full coverage of the show in the November 2009 issue of Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car. See more pics at Hemmings

Christopher's "Blue Beauty" Corolla
Gotadime
Several months ago, Christopherintroduced himself to me and I quickly came to know what a great guy he is. About a week after we met, he began to completely redesign his page, saying that he wanted the “simplicity” that mine has. Yes, we all strive for simplicity, but few can compete with the simplicity of Christopher’s new page. You may not see it at first glance, but trust me, he’s simplified it as much as possible, considering the extreme amount of content that he has to bring to the table. He’s what I like to call a “CarDomain pioneer” in the way that he has developed features for his page that have never been seen on a ride page before. Re-designing and developing his new ride page took him weeks of working around the clock. His car and his page both serve as wonderful role models for the CarDomain community at large. Stop by Blue Beauty’s page take a look at what it has to offer. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Newera Imports 20-Valve AE86 Levin
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
It was last summer when I got a call from Miguel over at Newera Imports, saying I had to come over quick to check out one of the cleanest AE86 he had ever picked up. He was under strict orders from a customer to find a spotless “panda” Trueno, preferably with a AE92 4AG-GE swap, or black-top 20-Valve motor to the non “hachi-otakus” out there!
The search began and lasted several months, until Miguel heard from a well informed contact that a very special car was up for sale. Even though it was not exactly what the customer wanted, a few pictures were sent by e-mail and the decision was made. Miguel headed down to Nagoya to pick up the Levin you see here. D Mac's AE86 N2
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Ever since I borrowed a friend’s Corolla at D1 New Jersey to battle Ueno in 2007, I have a special place in my heart for AE86′s. I have even bought 2 of them since: one rally spec, and one street that is rotting because I can’t decide what to do with it but I don’t want to get rid of it and chance not finding another one in such good shape. Since it is coming to the end of Toyota month I thought I would share these pictures (I hope I am allowed) that I just got from my leprechaun friend and Team Falken Tire teammate, Darren McNamara. This is his AE86 N2 that he resurrected from the dead. It is probably one of the most mean looking and to the point Corolla’s I have ever seen and I bet it is crazy fun to drive. While it doesn’t have a ton of HP, it only weighs 1500 lbs after he installed the carbon he made at his shop MCNSport.com. He said it’s the lightest AE86 he knows of out there. What do you all think? Corolla Axio APR GT
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
This Toyota Corolla has been transformed into a full blown Super GT contender. The car was build by APR, who were also responsible for the famous Lightning McQueen MR-S that competed last year in the GT300 class and even won 1 race. For the 2009 season APR thought it would be fitting to start with a completely new car. It was initially unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon and slowly a few more details have become available..
Team manager and chief engineer had this to say about his choice for the Corolla Axio; “My team has been using Corolla on the street, and, in spite of having a manual transmission, I often have taken the wheel also. I always thought that the car has everything in a nice package: good balance, maneuverability, drivability, etc. From there, I thought ‘Would we be able to make a racing car out of it?”
As you can see, they definably succeeded in making race car out of the plain looking Corolla. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Santos and His 9.64 Second KE15 Sprinter
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
One of the rarest cars in the Corolla lineage is the KE15 Toyota Corolla 1200, or Corolla Sprinter. These cars came out even before the TE27; we’re talking late 1960s here. Parts for the KE15/KE17 are extremely hard to find, no matter what country you search in – United States, Japan, Australia, Philippines, New Zealand, you name it. I have personal experience with trying to find parts for this car unsuccessfully – I owned a white KE15 about ten years ago, but ended up selling it after a year or so of not being able to find simple things like a windshield, door glass, rubber weatherstrips, a front grill, or bumpers for it. I couldn’t believe that someone as resourceful as me when it comes to old Toyota parts would have such a hard time finding simple parts for this car! Continue reading at Speedhunters
