Yeow! '67 Camaro Sedan Delivery on Craigslist

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

Someone’s going to get killed over this. It’s a 1967 Camaro converted into a steel-bodied panel wagon. It’s got a grafted-on Chevy Vega wagon hatch and rear clip, lots of custom body sculpting, and a paint job like a piata. The good news is that it’s running a supercharged 454 with dual Holley carbs. I’ll bet it’s actually really fun, and you sure wouldn’t have to worry about not being able to find your car in a parking lot. Yours for only $29K!

Craigslist Find: 1975 Maserati Merak

By Rob

If you love Italian cars, live in the North East, have some garage space and a spare $5,000, I’ve got a great car for you. Yeah, it doesn’t run, parts will be scarce, and it’s got a bunch of oddball Citron stuff, but still–think how cool it would be to have a red Maserati parked in your garage. No one expects these to run anyway, and it would be nice to be able to go out and stare at those beautiful Giugiaro lines from time to time.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Merak, I found a nice little writeup here.

Craigslist Find: Mazda Protege Pickup

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

Man, I wish the photos were better, cause this is the most hilarious Craigslist ad I’ve seen in a while. It’s a 1995 Mazda Protege with a truck bed welded on the back–"and it’s on there good." I dig how the wheels match the valve cover, too. You could probably do a lot worse for $400. Consider it a low buck Subaru Baja. Two more pics after the jump.

Craigslist Find: 1995 Camaro Ashamed of Itself

By John

Editor

In case anyone was wondering, the description of this poor Camaro makes it clear from the start: "THIS IS FOR SERIOUS BUYERS." The line is helpful, because while the pictures attest to the owner’s absolutely horrendous taste, that phrase establishes they’re delusional as well. Would anyone even remotely serious consider dropping 9500 bucks—or in the vernacular of the description "9500 STACKS"—on a car that’s been so disfigured? Of course not. This thing is so ugly , just parking it in public could well warrant a vandalism charge. See the actual listing here.

What Did You Do This Weekend?

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

My better half wants a Subaru, so I called on a few Craigslist ads this weekend. I almost called on this one, til I saw the feature listed between roof rack and interior wood trim.

Alloy Wheels
Fog/Driving Lamps
Power Mirrors
Rear Wiper
AM/FM Radio
CD Player
Dual Moonroof
Center Arm Rest
Cloth Seats
Console
Cruise Control
Roof Rack
RBLT Title
Interior wood trim
Power Door Locks
Power Outlet

I guess the seller thinks he’s pretty sly. I wonder why he even bothered to list it at all. What did you do this weekend?

What Did You Do This Weekend?

By Jen

The welcoming of a new car into one’s life tends to be a pretty awesome and special event, so I was extremely stoked this weekend to help my friend Neil become CarDomain’s newest AMC Eagle owner! Yesterday we drove down to McChord AFB to check out this super-tough ’81 Eagle Sport wagon. It had the incurably leaking AMC plastic valve cover, the wiring was on the fritz, the differential was howling from a lack of gear oil, and an ominous billow of white steam from tailpipe suggested a blown head gasket. The front rotors were grooved, one of the rear brakes was dragging like crazy, and at least one of the wheel bearings was garbage. Nonetheless, Neil put down his cash and bought the car on the spot. Even I, who drove my own Eagle home from Pennsylvania out of a field the day I bought it, thought he was crazy for wanting to limp this car home (4 hours away). But the voyage back was unexpectedly tranquil, except when I had to frantically high-beam him to the shoulder when that draggy rear brake started trying to catch fire at 55 mph. Yep, this car is clearly another rescue project, but I get the feeling that Neil’s up to the task, and that this hard-miles Eagle is finally going to get a chance to be treated right. See more views of the Eagle on Neil’s new ride page!

And what about you? What did you do this weekend?
