Frankenstein

By Rob Einaudi

We screwed up and forgot to include a pic of Mike’s awesome El Cutlass or Camino Supreme in the collage for CarDomain’s Top Ten Ride Pages of 2008. So here’s the pic I wanted to include. From Mike’s ride page:

Here’s the latest body shop pictures, Sept 12/08. They’ve done exactly what I wanted, taking the small chunk I cut off the Cutlass and grafting it onto the El Camino so the door shuts flush. I’m told the Cutlass body line will die where it ends there, and the El Camino line from under the 1/4 window will remain the same. It looks awesome so far!

Mike tells me the car is nearing completion, so look for another update soon!

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Cutlass Supreme

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Hey, not everyone can be a winner. But there are a ton of awesome and hilarious rides in the Amoco Ultimate contest, so we decided to highlight some of our favorites. Like entry # 1226, a photochopped ’87 Cutlas Supreme. This Olds has a Chevy 350 under the hood, and sports custom upholstery and 17" Eagle alloy wheels. I bet it looks pretty wicked without the chop, too.

There are still more chances to win, so if you haven’t already thrown your hat into the ring, make sure to enter the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest!

El Cutlass or Camino Supreme?

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Check out Mike’s awesome project, which is the result of mixing an El Camino with a Cutlass Supreme. I love the "open disclaimer" on his ride page:

You might be thinking "That’s just wrecking the El Camino" (Or Cutlass for that matter.) Neither is exactly true. The El Camino needed a complete restoration due to being a daily driver for numerous salty southern Ontario winters. I’m restoring it, but I’m choosing to use Oldsmobile parts. The Cutlass was scrapped because it needs a Y pipe, brake lines, and some heavy duty patching to the trunk and rear frame area. I need the front end and interior which are both in good shape, so it works out well.

The car is currently getting some stuff done at the body shop, and Mike is promising more photos soon. I can’t wait to see the finished result!

Donkalicious Cutlass Doesn't Get One Single Bid!

By Jen Dunnaway

This ’72 Olds Cutlass convertible has been pretty meticulously restored, with a rebuilt 455, 12-bolt posi rear end, killer audio system, and custom paint. Oh yeah, and the guy also slapped some 24′s on it and made it a donk. But with an opening bid of $25,000, this auction ended with no takers. So what does this mean? Is the economy really that bad? Was it because the seller’s asking price was too high for any Cutlass convertible, or has the whole donk thing totally crested?

Donk In The Wild

By Jen Dunnaway

I’m not exactly sure why this tranquil scene cracks me up so bad. Maybe it’s because, if you pretend the road isn’t there, it’s kind of like this Cutlass (and okay fine, it’s technically a "box," you sticklers) is sitting on 24′s out in the woods. And that’d be pretty hilarous. Check out Damien’s new ride page—I hope he gets the image-size problem sorted out so we can see more!
