Ghost-Riding While Doing Donuts?

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Watching this car turn donuts with no one behind the wheel was really making me cringe. For a couple of seconds, it looks like the driver might not be able to get back in the car, but fortunately, after a couple of attempts, he’s able to do it.  Yikes.

Time to Make the Donuts: M6 Goes for It!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Now, I don’t have any statistics on my side, but I’d be willing to bet the vast majority of M-Class BMWs never get driven anywhere near their potential, just as few SUVs ever leave the pavement. Most types who can afford these Bavarian bad-asses probably see the M badge as just another logo that betrays wealth, like a Gucci or D&G emblem on a pair of shades. So it’s pretty cool to see this M6 going for broke in a parking lot. I mean, doesn’t it look so happy lighting up the tires? Fortunately, there was a lot of room to work here, and the little romp left the car intact. This M6 in Dubai didn’t fare as well.

Size Matters: Semi Does Donuts!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Most of the time, when I see a semi, my first instinct is to get the hell away from it. I’ve heard plenty of stories about bikers being injured by flying treads and been buffeted by their “jet-wash” enough times to view these freeway behemoths as my natural enemies. The lone exception? During the tropical downpours in Florida—they happen like clockwork every summer afternoon—following the lights of big trucks was the only way I was able to keep pace in otherwise blinding rain. But hey, even T-Rexes had to frolic every once in a while. Check out this sweet clip of a Mercedes rig turning donuts.
