Drunk Driver Launches Her Car in Dallas

By Brian Lohnes

BangShift.com

Well this may have sobered her up. A suspected drunk driver in Dallas, Texas, launched her car over a set of toll booths at the DFW Airport when she failed to slow down and pay the toll. We can only imagine what was going through the heads of the other drivers as the car entered low Earth orbit.

The launch video below is nuts, and it is truly amazing that the woman lived through the experience. You can click here to see the entire police report and details on the driver, Yasmine Villasana’s awful story as to what caused the accident. She ended up with a broken wrist. The Chevy Impala she was driving ended up as molten scrap.

By Brian Lohnes

We’re guessing that this came from New Years Eve, the red-letter day for drunk driving. Maybe the guy was on his way to find a pallet full of rum to go with his Coke. Via Failblog

By Jen Dunnaway

An inebriated Lynne Rice, age 74, took her ’88 Cadillac (not pictured) crashing through two six-foot panes of plate glass into a convenience store, then grabbed a six-pack of Bud from the cooler after extracting herself from the rubble. A horrified store clerk "declined the sale" and called the cops instead. Though the big Caddy managed to plow about halfway through the store, no one was hurt. Even more miraculously, grandma was charged with only misdemeanor DUI, and released on bail.

Scarlet Plates For Convicted DUI Offenders?

By John

Shame can be a powerful motivator. That’s why one Washington State Senator just proposed branding the cars of people convicted of DUI with special plates. The scarlet plates aren’t an unprecedented idea—Maryland, Virginia and Florida have all seen like-minded proposals—and a similar law has been on the books in Ohio for years. Honestly? I’m a little conflicted, because while I don’t think people should drive drunk, I don’t believe special plates would stop it either. According to the video below, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers agrees with me. What do think? Would the plates make a difference? More at Komo 4 News.

Britney Spears Move of the Day: Buckle Up Beer, Not Baby!

By Jen

A driver in Florida was found to have secured a 24-pack of Busch with a seatbelt, while a toddler was allowed to run loose in the back seat. Pulled over for running a red light, the motorist turned out to have no license, but two crack pipes in her purse—perhaps she would’ve benefited from one of those Volvo warning icons—while the baby and her 20-year-old mother were unbelted in the back. While it’s true that 24-packs are less prone to airbag injuries than babies are, it’s unclear at this point whether this argument will be brought to bear in the driver’s defense.
