DUB 2008 Tour Starts Tomorrow in the Motor City!
By John Coyle

Air travel is really the only decent excuse for waking up early. After all, you get to go somewhere, and at least if you’re supposed to arrive two hours before your flight, the bars open at six. But I don’t even care about the fact that I had to get up at at the crack of dawn, because I’m headed to DetroitMotor City!for the kickoff of the 2008 DUB tour. While I missed the 2007 stop, I was on the ground in Detroit in 2006, and at SEMA, I talked to head honcho Myles Kovacs about what was hot wheel-wise. So I’m curious to see what heats up the floor tomorrow. In ‘O6 I liked this two-tone Charger, and as always, the audio gear in the bed of the Meguire’s truck made me dizzy. And while I know it’s two Chargers in a row, I really like how this Mopar from last year looks like a shark. Right now, I don’t know what the coolest ride I’ll see this weekend will be, but as soon as I do, I’ll post it on the blog. Also look out for interviews with David Banner, Nick Cannon and Llyod. Stay tunedMotor City here I come!

Off the Hook: Your Ride. In DUB Magazine.
By John Coyle
Editor
DUB shows are some of the most popular events on CarDomain, so this year, we decided to take our coverage to the next level. I’ll be on the ground in the Motor City on March 29th for the kickoff of the 2008 tour, and we’ll be posting pics and video from every stop. But that’s only the beginning. Each month for next ten months, Myles Kovacs of DUB will review the cars in CarDomain’s new DUB rating category, and pick one semi-finalist to be featured on CarDomain. Then, at the end of the year, he’ll chose one ride from those ten to appear in a feature article in the thick, glossy pages of DUB Magazine.
To get started, just log into CarDomain and go to the "Hit Counter and Ratings" located in the left hand navigation bar in the member lobby. Under "Special" will be the "DUB" category. Just check the box, and you’re all set. We already have over 200 rides signed up, and we’ll be posting links to all the semi finalists on our DUB landing page. If you haven’t already, make sure to join CarDomain’s DUB group, for up-to-the-minute coverage of everything happening in the world of DUB. What are you waiting for? Don’t you want to make your ride a superstar!

DUB's PimpStar Beats LED Wheels In Hokey Advertising
By Jen

You’ll surely remember the LED Wheels that Rob blogged from SEMA. As it turns out, DUB’s got a similar product in the pipeline, but MHT’s hilariously earnest homemade-looking promo video for the rims is notably lacking in finesse. PimpStars will help you pick up chicks, the ad suggests, by allowing you to scrawl kindergartenish MS Paint-style messageswhile you’re driving, the narrator emphasizesand then broadcasting them from your wheels to random women in convertibles. What a great idea! Even smarter than texting while drivingand we all know how well that works out. Thanks to Neil for the tip!

Unreal Charger
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
Shawn acquired this Charger in June of 2006 and promptly ripped it apart. He put thirty hours into wet sanding and polishing the custom paint. The Charger is rolling on 24 inch DUB Dirty Dog 5s (he is hoping to move up to 26s with a sponsorship). Future plans include suicide rear doors and a supercharger.

Tacoma on 20's
By Jen

Check out this incredible Tacoma by Sadistic Iron Works. It’s rolling on 20′s, and virtually everything from the cab back is hand-fabbed. The clear pickup bed lets you see a lot of the internals, including the custom exhaust.
