Lotus Esprit Murders the TR6 on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Man, this week’s eBay Motors Showdown was a blowout. The Triumph only got three or four votes. I’d probably take the TR6, too, but I’m a sucker for British Racing Green and love old British roadsters. But this Giugiaro-designed Lotus is definitely timeless.

Triumph TR6 vs. Lotus Esprit: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Have $15K burning a hole in your pocket and want something British? Well how about these rides? This 1976 Triumph TR-6 has been redone and looks amazing in British Racing Green. This 1986 Lotus Esprit looks to be a solid, original car with a recent turbo rebuild. And these two examples represent the last year of production for the TR-6 and the pure Giugiaro-styled Esprit. So, which would you choose?

By Rob Einaudi

We definitely had some strong opinions in this week’s eBay Motors Showdown, but the Bronco started strong and finished strong, winning by more than a 2-to-1 margin. Stay tuned for another match-up next week!

Bronco vs. Land Cruiser: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I’ve been wanting to put an early Bronco up against an old Land Cruiser in an eBay Motors Showdown for a while now, but was having trouble finding auctions that were priced close enough–Land Cruisers just seem to command more money at the end of the day. Well, I think I finally found a decent match. This 1972 Ford Bronco has been nicely redone and this 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser appears to be in very good original condition. So, which would you choose?

El Camino Stomps the Ranchero on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Despite the fact that the Ranchero is in better condition and has a bigger motor, you guys still picked the El Camino by almost a 2-to-1 margin in this week’s eBay Motors Showdown. Looks like the Ford sold for $6k while the Chevy is still struggling to meet the reserve.

Ranchero vs El Camino: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Welcome to the first eBay Motors Showdown of 2010! For this installment we have two Detroit classics from the late 70s, both with awesome two-tone paint schemes. The ‘77 El Camino is probably a bit more rough than the ‘78 Ranchero, but El Caminos tend to command more money, so I thought it was fair. Plus the old school slots are way cool. Anyway, check out the auctions and then let us know: which would you choose?

By Rob Einaudi

The Chevy actually put up a pretty good fight in this week’s eBay Motors Showdown, but at the end of the day, the Viper wins for being more exclusive and more insane. Stay tuned for another eBay Motors Showdown next week!

Viper vs. Vette: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Ok, so you got $50k burning a hole in your pocket and want a 500 hp sports car. Well then how about a Viper? Or maybe a Z06 Vette? This 2006 Viper SRT-10 comes with a 505 cubic inch V-10 which produces 500 hp and 525 pound-feet of torque. This 2008 Corvette Z06 packs a 427 cubic inch LS7 V-8 which produces 505 hp and 470 pound-feet of torque. The Vette has a bunch of electronic nannies to help keep you out of the ditch. The Viper… not so much. Both examples are low mileage cars and appear to be in excelling condition. Which would you choose?

IROC vs. 5.0: Too Close to Call!
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
This week’s ebay Motors Showdown really hit a chord with people. Even with our ongoing commenting issues (now even I can’t comment, and yes, we are working on it) we got a HUGE response on this one. At first it looked like the IROC was gonna walk away with it, but then the Fox body rallied, and in the end this one is just too close to call!
Looks like the 1988 Camaro IROC Z-28 got bid up to $4,550 with the reserve still not met before time ran out. The 1989 Mustang GT auction still has three days to go, with the bid currently at $2,550. But any way you look at it, both of these cars offer a big bang for the buck. And we’ll definitely run more Mustang vs. Camaro shoot outs in the future, cause they are a of of fun!
