Viper Beats the Z06 on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
The Chevy actually put up a pretty good fight in this week’s eBay Motors Showdown, but at the end of the day, the Viper wins for being more exclusive and more insane. Stay tuned for another eBay Motors Showdown next week!

Viper vs. Vette: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Ok, so you got $50k burning a hole in your pocket and want a 500 hp sports car. Well then how about a Viper? Or maybe a Z06 Vette? This 2006 Viper SRT-10 comes with a 505 cubic inch V-10 which produces 500 hp and 525 pound-feet of torque. This 2008 Corvette Z06 packs a 427 cubic inch LS7 V-8 which produces 505 hp and 470 pound-feet of torque. The Vette has a bunch of electronic nannies to help keep you out of the ditch. The Viper… not so much. Both examples are low mileage cars and appear to be in excelling condition. Which would you choose?

IROC vs. 5.0: Too Close to Call!
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
This week’s ebay Motors Showdown really hit a chord with people. Even with our ongoing commenting issues (now even I can’t comment, and yes, we are working on it) we got a HUGE response on this one. At first it looked like the IROC was gonna walk away with it, but then the Fox body rallied, and in the end this one is just too close to call!
Looks like the 1988 Camaro IROC Z-28 got bid up to $4,550 with the reserve still not met before time ran out. The 1989 Mustang GT auction still has three days to go, with the bid currently at $2,550. But any way you look at it, both of these cars offer a big bang for the buck. And we’ll definitely run more Mustang vs. Camaro shoot outs in the future, cause they are a of of fun!

IROC vs. 5.0: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Ok guys, time for a 3rd gen vs. Fox body showdown! This 1989 Mustang GT looks to have been nicely redone and it’s a 5 speed to boot. The 1988 Camaro IROC Z-28 is unrestored and has some fading paint, but this is slightly rarer car, too, with the L98 5.7 liter TPI (which was only available with the automatic). And of course both come in a killer black/grey color combo. So, which would you choose?

Countach Beats the 512 Boxer on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I guess this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, but the 1987 Lamborghini Countach handily beat the 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi in this week’s eBay Motors Showdown. I really admire the Countach, but for a car to own and drive, I would definitely go with the Boxer, which is one of my favorite Ferraris of all time. Stay tuned for another match up next week, and if you have any suggestions for future eBay Motors Showdowns, please leave them in the comments below!

512 Boxer vs. Countach: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
For this week’s eBay Motors Showdown, I present you with two cars that dominated magazine covers when I was a kid. This 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi looks to be a nice red/black example from the last year of production. And this 1987 Lamborghini Countach was a special order car for Mario Andretti. Which would you choose?

Veilside RX-7 vs. Hakosuka Clone: Too Close To Call!!!
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Well, I just counted the votes in this week’s eBay Motors Showdown and this one is too close to call! Both the Veilside RX-7 and the Hakosuka Clone got a lot of love and respect. I’d definitely go with the old school Hakosuka, but that probably doesn’t surprise anyone. Anyway, we’ll probably skip the eBay Motors Showdown next week cause we’re gonna be buried at SEMA. But if you have any ideas or suggestions for the Showdown the following week, post ‘em in the comments below!

Veilside RX-7 vs. Hakosuka Clone: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I figured it was time for some import tuner love in this week’s eBay Motors Showdown. The Veilside RX-7 is a magazine quality FD with $50k in mods according to the seller. And the Hakosuka Clone looks sweet and has lots of authentic JDM touches. Oh, and both of these rides are John Naderi approved. So, which would you choose?

Duster Beats the Nova on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Our second eBay Motors Showdown went to the 1973 Duster 340 by a pretty wide margin. It’s interesting to note that the Duster only got bid up to $13,600 before the auction ended, well shy of the $16,5000 reserve. The 1972 Nova sold for $14,500. Have any ideas for next week’s match up? Post them in the comments below!

Nova vs. Duster: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Duster owners always hate it when people say, “Nice Nova!” so I thought I’d put the two together in this week’s eBay Motors Showdown. Originally my plan to was to look for beaters, but then I found two nice “survivors”—yes, an overused term, but I think it applies fairly well to these examples. The 1972 Nova is not really an SS, and it’s unclear whether it’s wearing original paint, but it does seem to be quite clean and original. The 1973 Duster 340 seems to be a very original and well-documented one owner car. Auctions are ending very soon (and may be done by the time many of you see this blog post) and it’s unclear if either will make the reserve, but they seem to be priced pretty close. Anyway, click the links to the two auctions above and then let us know—which would you choose?

993 Kills the Bullitt on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
The Porsche dominated our first eBay Motors Showdown. I guess that shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, though of course, as many people pointed out, the Bullitt will be much cheaper to own and mod over the year. Still, used 911s are pretty tempting these days, and the 993 is many people’s favorite air-cooled Porsche.
Anyway, I think we’re gonna have some fun with these eBay Motors Showdowns. Again, anything goes as long as the prices are fairly close and it seems like a fair fight. If you come across any cool auctions or have any suggestions for future match-ups, shoot me an e-mail or leave a comment below.

Bullitt vs. 993: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I’ve had a lot of people asking me about the Showroom Showdown, which stalled out over the summer. Why the lapse? Well, it seems like we ran through just about every new car combo out there, and it was getting harder and harder to pick compelling match-ups. A bunch of members also suggested that I start doing used car showdowns, since most of us car enthusiasts go used anyway. So today I’m kicking off our eBay Motors Showdown. Each week I will feature two cars plucked off eBay Motors. They’ll both be priced about the same, and they’ll both be enthusiast cars. Other than that, pretty much anything goes, as long as I think we’ll have a good battle.
This week I’m starting out with two cars I love. In fact, I waste a lot of time looking at Bullitts and 993s on eBay. 993s tend to command a bit more money than Bullitts, so for this showdown I picked out a nicely modified HPDE ready 993, which in some ways is a lot cooler than a stock car, but will probably command less money. The Bullitt in question looks to be a low mile, clean car. Both cars are fast, fun and should hold their value pretty well. So, which would you choose?
