Absolutely Mint Country Squire Wagon on eBay

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

I could have sworn that this 150,000-mile Ford LTD Country Squire would have had to have undergone a complete restoration to look this good at 41 years old, but the seller claims that it was meticulous maintenance throughout its life that kept the big woodgrain wagon looking like a time capsule. It came equipped with an 8-track player and a 429 Thunder Jet, and it looks like everything still works. Amazing… take a look at the auction on eBay for a ton of droolworthy photos.

Pro Street Pace Car Mustang: Best of Both Worlds

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

The marriage of two awesome things–it’s like peanut butter and chocolate, only in car form. This ’79 Mustang is running a 429 big block through a shift-kitted C6 trans and 4:10 rear gears, and though it might not be the most practical transportation, it’s totally street legal. Check out the auction on eBay.

Crochet-Covered Morris Minor for Sale on eBay

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

The car is salvage from a New York City art exhibition wherein the creator set up a living environment entirely covered in crochet–an apartment that looks like it’s inhabited by a schizophrenic grandma, with the Minor parked out front. The eBay auction, stalled at time of writing with only one 500-dollar bid, might be a little more successful if the seller gave some indication of the condition of the car. Is it a straight running Minor that’s just been covered with a giant tea-cozy, or has it been more permanently disabled? The only clue in the ad is an ominous reference to “plaster sculpture” in the car’s construction. But that could mean anything, right? Check out the action here.

Gorgeous Model T Speedster on eBay

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

It’s got an all-steel body and has received some pretty creative updates throughout for performance and reliability, including an Isuzu oil pump, VW distributor, front disc brakes from a Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, and twin Tilson updraft carbs. The look is basically stock, but although certain details would probably horrify purist concours judges, it’s really a very sleek update that allows this to be a car that’s enjoyed and driven like it should be. Check out the auction on eBay.

58,000-Mile Supra on eBay

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

This low-miles Supra was bought by a father and son from a previous owner who’d driven it only as a weekend fun car until he put it in storage in 2006. The only thing wrong with it when they got it was that it had been sitting, and after fresh fluids, tires, and a few spare parts, it runs and drives pretty much like new. It’s rare to see one of these that hasn’t been thrashed to hell–take a look at the eBay auction.

A Once-Fabulous Hudson Hornet

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

I remember one time walking into a junkyard in New York and seeing two of these old Hornets–recently arrived, but almost totally stripped, sitting side by side near the entrance. Multiples of cars like this is always a sad sight at the boneyard–because you just know that it was probably some old guy or gal hanging onto those hulks, who finally kicked the bucket only to have their ingrate relatives send their cars off to the scrapper. I’m hoping a more gentle fate awaits this very complete Hudson Hornet, and judging from the bidding, it looks like it’ll probably end up with a good home. Check out the auction on eBay.

Mark Martin To Run eBay Motors Paint Scheme

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

The No. 5 car’s new eBay Motors livery is pretty great in that it combines two of my favorite things–NASCAR and eBay–but what’s probably a little more cool from a free-stuff perspective is that eBay Motors is running a contest to get a fan VIP access to the October 24 race in Martinsville, which is generally a pretty spectacular race. Anyone who signs up for the contest on the eBay Motors Facebook page with their eBay user id will also get that id emblazoned on car, presumably crammed into that spot on the hood with all the other contestants. Either way, I can’t wait to see the eBay Motors car out on the track.

All-Electric Eclipse on eBay

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

I always love a good homebrew electric car. This Eclipse claims to get only 15-40 miles on a charge (depending on how you drive), but that’d be enough to get me to work and back. Almost. Actually, not really. Check out the auction, and thanks to Idefix for the tip!

Woodgrain Speedo

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

If this isn’t ultimate 70′s hotness, I don’t know what is. It very much reminds me of those wood-slab clocks that once adorned the walls of countless trailers and pea-green living rooms. The earthy gauge is off this AMC Matador Barcelona coupe, currently on eBay. Via Brown Car Appreciation Society.

GTO Wagon on eBay

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

It actually began life as an ultra-rare Tempest wagon, but was later done up as a full-on GTO clone, with a Pontiac 400, Hurst shifter, exterior-mounted tach, and all the rest. A very cool longroof Poncho if you ask me! Check out the auction.
