Expensive Enzo Carwash Fail

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

A once beautiful Ferrari Enzo is now scarred for life thanks to its neglectful owner and a microfiber cloth soaked in debris. Before you attempt to clean an Enzo, you had better know what you’re doing. This guy totally fails at Enzo ownership! Read more about it at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

Ferrari Enzo Barely Misses Motorcyclist

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

The Ferrari Enzo is a beautiful machine, and this one almost bought a stranded motorcyclist.  Recorded ripping through the touge style canyon road at speeds reaching 150 mph, this is one crazy Enzo owner! Read more about the near miss at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

The Secret Is Out – Gemballa Ferrari Enzo MIG-UI

By Ben Schaffer

The Real JDM

I’ve been holding a secret for a long time…A while back one of my friends (a member of the Galadari family) in Dubai told me about this project they were working on with Germany’s famous Porsche tuner Gemballa. The project shocked me because of just how insane it was. After seeing some early sketches of the project, I was convinced that it would turn out to be pretty wild!

Now many months later after painfully suppressing this secret, the pictures are here. The Gemballa Enzo project lives!

I’ve been given permission finally to release the pictures, but it seems that I might not be the first to leak them. Regardless I think I was one of the very first to know about this project many months ago, so I still feel its relevant to publish these here.

I loved this ‘Cuda when I saw it at SEMA, but honestly, I assumed it was built more for show than go. Well, I guess I was wrong!

Enzo MR2

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Over the years we’ve had to delete a lot of exotic car ride pages from our site—pages built by people who obviously did not own the car shown in the photos. When Edison’s car flashed across the homepage we thought we had yet another hopeless dreamer/poseur on our hands. But when we clicked through to the ride page we got quite a shock!

This Just In: New on the Net

By John Coyle

What’s cooler than a 50-foot mechanical spider perched on the side on a building? A 50-foot mechanical spider walking down the street! Is this thing insane or what? Anyway, here’s the news:

  • Like the old song says, breaking up is hard to do. After speculation that Ford was going to kick Volvo to the curb, it looks like the Blue Oval is going to stick with the Swedish automaker. While there are probably several factors involved in the decision, I think it basically comes down to one thing: meatballs. Detroit News
  • While the Chevy Volt spotted on the set on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is "representative of the production vehicle," it’s not sporting the same sheet metal that consumers will see in the showroom. What else did we learn? The car’s character will be called "Lutzinator," carry heavy cannons, and be able to fly. Jalopnik
  • A test mule for Ferrari’s Enzo has been spotted, and while it just looks like a 430 with big rear tires, it apparently sounds amazing. Apparently, Modena is looking at powering it with a  twin-turbo V8. Next Autos
  • By 2015, every taxi in Boston will be a hybrid. While I’m all for green machines, I hope Seattle goes with something like the natural-gas Crown Vics, because there’s nothing worse than getting off a cramped plane and having to squeeze into the back of a Prius. Wired
  • Our buddy Rich just posted some awesome pics of Jaguar’s new 500 horsepower XF-R testing in Death Valley, and from the looks of them, it seems the engineers have gotten most everything sorted out. Automotive Traveler

4:45 AM… Start Your Engines!!!

By Mike Musto

AKA Mr. Angry

The alarm went off at 4:45 AM yesterday morning. Inside of eleven minutes the teeth were brushed, I was completely dressed and had managed to slap on some anti-stink before hitting the road. You see, it was Sunday morning and for us car guys, Sunday mornings mean one thing: you drive. And yesterday was the first real Sunday of ’08 where there was no real salt on the roads and it was truly dry out. So this meant get up, get out and get movin’ early. Apparently I wasn’t the only one with this idea because when we met up there were about twenty of us, all ready for a nice little 200 mile jaunt.

We had a pretty cool mix for this days run as well: everything from highly modded BMW M5s and M6s to a 650hp Super Performance Cobra (this thing was FAST!) to my buddy Andre’s jaw dropping Audi R8, to turbo Porsches of all years, and oh yeah, there was an Enzo there, too.

What you have to understand is this. Everyone on CarDomain is here because we love cars. They come in all shapes and sizes, make all sorts of different noises and evoke all kinds of emotions. They make us do strange things like get up before dawn, just so we can catch our favorite twisty roads before the traffic hits. We long for the early hours when the roads are empty enough to maybe open up the taps a little more than usual, and how about getting that wonderful breakfast at your favorite spot after the run? These are things in life that make a car guy’s life worth living. And let me tell you something, yesterday, we lived life VERY VERY well. Four more pics after the jump.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Trailer!

By John Coyle

Editor

All of the games in the Gran Turismo series have been super popular, and from the looks of this trailer, the fifth installment should be a total blast. One big complaint die-hard fans have had with the series—the lack of damage modeling—has been fixed, and graphics look so good, it almost makes you wonder why you can’t smell any exhaust. Of course, there’s a laundry list of different cars available to flog—check out some of the superstars starring in the preview below. The prologue—which doesn’t have all the features the full version will contain—will be released on April 28th, with the complete game to follow in the next 12 months. Get more details over at Winding Road.
