Escalade Minitruck

Felix took a beater S-10 and an Escalade front clip and built a very clean little Cadillac-nosed pickup out of the two. Take a look!

The Desperation Is Tangible: Even Unique Whips Can't Sell Off Their Big Rigs

By Jen Dunnaway

I can’t credibly make fun of Unique Whips as I’ve never really been able to sit through an entire episode—I couldn’t even wait long enough to see how Tony Stewart’s hearse turned out—but from what I hear, it’s a pretty godawful show, and both Rob and Sean think the guy who hosts it is kind of a tool. That being said, I can’t help feeling sorry for this Unique Whips Escalade, which can’t get a bid on eBay to save its kitted-up life. The seller’s verbiage clearly indicates that they’re completely fed up with this ride: "This listing is the last listing for this vehicle on Ebay." Or else what? They send it to the crusher? Given the poor sales prospects for similar gas-guzzlers, such a fate may not be far off. The ad continues, "Owner must sell this vehicle immediately and that is reflected in what was already a bargain price. It is being reluctantly sold at an insanely low price, almost what a stock one goes for." They might as well be saying "Look—just buy this ridiculous goddamn thing already. Our commission is dwindling away with each time we have to re-list it, okay?" The "Buy It Now" price is set at a darn near humiliating $44,500. But with less than a day left on the auction, it seems unlikely that anyone will buy it now. Or ever.

One Escalade. 30,000 Watts.

From the man that brought you the "That’s a Lot of Bass. Hey, Where’s My Eyeball?!" video and the "Window Shaker Bass Maker" clip comes the next generation of absolutely insane sound systems. That’s right, Steve Meade is back, and this time he’s upped the ante to 30,000 watts RMS. The victim is a 2002 Caddy Escalade dumped on bags and sitting on 24" chrome. Steve and crew have it packed to the gills with a slew of audio gear, including eight 18" Fi BTL subwoofers, 36 speakers, 5 batteries, and as the piece de resistance two, yes two, Rockford Fosgate T15Kw amplifiers which each pump out 15,000 watts RMS. Damn. The amps retail for $24,999 apiece, and they’re like nothing the world of car audio has ever seen. Steve has a ton of photos of the build over at his forum, and make sure to hop over to the SoundDomain Blog for a video walk-through of this insane system.

This isn’t one of those joke ride pages: Kesean is clearly a serious future gearhead. His whip is a Power Wheels Escalade EXT, and he’s already rocking some great mods, including a custom sound system featuring a pair of baby 6" subs. Big kudos to pops for putting the kid on the right path!
