I love these tall, loud tri-five Chevy gassers! The photo is from the Goodguys Nationals last weekend in Des Moines, and there are a ton more to browse over at Bangshift.

Greenwood Car Show Pics Now Live!
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
This weekend, Chris and I checked out the Greenwood Car Show, a community event which saw close to 1000 rides roll in and line the main drag of a sleepy Seattle neighborhood. I didn’t enter a car this year–keep in mind that “community” means a massive and densely-packed crowd of joe-public non-car-enthusiast spectators who don’t necessarily understand the risks that their kids, dogs, bicycles, belt buckles, and double-wide SUV strollers can pose to a car’s paint job in such close quarters, so the show can be a little stressful if you’ve got a car there that you care about. I found it way better this year to be able to kick back in the NASCAR chairs, enjoy a couple of beers, walk the show without freaking out over who might be manhandling my ride, and let Chris handle all the worrying about his Impala and the photography. Speaking of which, he snagged a ton of great photos of the cars early in the day before all the riff-raff showed up. Check them out over in our Events section!

If you like old school muscle, go here. If you prefer new school muscle (with a few Neons) go here. And I have a ton of video after the jump! (Jen had the Nikon at Pocono this weekend, so I shot everything with a tiny little Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS.)

What Did You Do This Weekend?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Despite some spotty weather I got out to the Mopars Unlimited Spring Roundup up in Everett. I think this was the 8th Spring Roundup I’ve attended with my ’66 Satellite. It rained on me on the drive there and on the drive home but the weather stayed relatively dry while I was at the show. Turnout was pretty decent, with a ton of old school and new school muscle. I’ll have pics and video up shortly. What did you do this weekend?

So Long, Miles!

It’s been a pretty fantastic race weekend at Dover, and I’m even more in love with this dazzling, hard-driving track than I was the first time I saw a race here. In addition to being a really cool place to watch NASCAR, Dover has some incredible people–NASCAR can be a tough nut to crack, but PR director Gary Camp and the media center staff do an amazing job of opening Dover’s doors and making sure that you get a chance to see everything you want to see. If you’re ever anywhere near the East Coast, the Monster Mile is a track you need to visit.
If you’re just coming back to the internets from your own awesome weekend, you might only just now be figuring out that the blog was inundated with NASCAR coverage while you were gone–you can check out my collected blogs from Dover here, and browse through both the Nationwide gallery and the Sprint Cup gallery in our Events section. Enjoy, and watch for more weekend race coverage on CarDomain in the coming weeks. Valvoline is sending us to Charlotte, Pocono, and maybe even Infineon!

NASCAR coverage brought to you by Valvoline Engine Guarantee–the first and only motor oil in the industry that will guarantee your engine up to 300,000 miles. *Registration required, some limitations apply.

Carlisle Performance & Style Coverage Now Live!
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Carlisle is known for putting on some of the most massive car shows in the East–hell, in the whole country–and last weekend was one of its most anticipated events, the Performance & Style show. CarDomain member Matt Hoover was there, and he shot us a whole gallery full of gorgeous photos. The show focuses heavily on the tuner, sport compact, and mini-truck segments, but it’s definitely a something-for-everyone kind of event–so head on over to the Events section and check it out!

Today’s pick is from John Naderi’s Formula Drift Long Beach photos. The sideways Mustang is of course awesome, but the Port-o-potty in the background is what makes this shot. Nicely framed! You can check out the whole run of Formula D coverage over in our Events section. And if you’ve got a great photo you want to see featured in the blog, feel free to drop me a line.

Anyone Going To Goodguys Spring Nationals This Weekend?
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Goodguys shows are always awesome–I went to the Syracuse Nats once back when I was living in New York, and with its acres on acres of hot rods and pre-1973 customs I’ll always remember it as one of the most worthwhile car shows I’ve been to. That’s why I wish I could be in Scottsdale, Arizona as Goodguys kicks off its 2010 show season. Anyone going?
