Mitsubishi Evo Pulls GMC Sierra From Ditch
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
Who needs a tow truck when you’ve got an all-wheel drive import laying around? Thanks to the Tow Mater Evo (notice the color), this 7,000 pound GMC Sierra was set free from the clutches of an evil, two foot deep ditch. This isn’t the first JDM to pull a truck, don’t forget about the Subaru pulling a stuck semi out of the snow. Read more at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.
7,000 < 70,000 = Subaru for the win. Sorry, I can’t help myself.

Drift on the Beach!
By Karan Singh
StreetFire.net
Every once in a while I get an inclination to go to the beach like the guys in this video. The only difference is that I can’t drive my car out onto the sands of Santa Monica and drift around like the Subarus and Evos in this video! They must be at a dog beach though because there are entirely too many dogs running around!

Evo IV and Evo VI TM Edition Photo Shoot
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
Seeing these photos today brought me back to a time when I lusted after the elusive Mitsubishi Evo that was not available in the US. Back in those days whenever I visited Japan and I’d see an Evo on the freeway out there I’d get goosebumps. The car was borderline mythical back then to me and my friends. Although later on the Evo did come to the US and the car became a bit more common to the eyes, the functional beautify and mystique of the older Evo 4,5 and 6s still resonate with me.
Just have a look at these super clean examples of the LanEvo VI Tommi Makinen edition and the LanEvo IV. Maybe these photos will bring back that same feeling for you that they did for me.

Ferrari 458 vs. Porsche GT3 RS
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Modena’s new 458 Italia has a gaggle of electronic nannies to help keep it under control, but Porsche’s GT3 RS is an old-school brute. So which is better? Evo’s Chris Harris drives both and decides! Watch the second part here.

This STM tuned Evo holds the record as the world’s fastest Mitsubishi on a stock block. Pushing over 680 horsepower with 584 ft/lbs of torque, it runs the quarter in 9.60 Quarter at 156mph. To put it into perspective, the 2009 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce runs a respectable 10.9 second quarter mile. Not to mention the MSRP in excess of $350,000.

Tony Elrick’s EVO 6
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Before I start i must make one thing clear, I dont own this hardcore track focused Evo VI RSX you see before you but I know a man who does, Tony Elrick. Unfortunatly at this moment in time Tony is in hospital recovering from a serious road accident (thankfully not in his Evo) so he can’t give you the story in his own words but I hope I can do Tony and the car justice, hopefully seeing this will help his recovery that little bit extra! Team Evo Crashes Out on Bullrun
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
We’ve watched all the seasons of the Bullrun reality show, and while we’ve seen people—including our own Mr. Angry—face some burly mechanical problems, we’ve never seen anyone straight-up total their car in a challenge. Well, until now, that is. Personally, I think the driver seems like kind of a tool. He wrecks his partner’s ride and doesn’t seem phased. At all. I showed more remorse when I broke my best buddy’s skateboard.

Spoiler Alert: Super Lap Battle Finals Results
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
Source Interlink Media held its Super Lap Battle finals at Buttonwillow Raceway Park’s Race 13 clockwise configuration today. All of the ink and paper outlets should have the complete story in a few months but if you can’t wait here are the dirty deets as reported by our boys at Everything Time Attack. It looks like David Empringham took/ate/slathered with hot sauce the whole enchilada in the Sierra Sierra Evo VIII with a 1:45.061. This is not too close to the 1:43.523 overall record held by Nobuteru Taniguchi in the HKS CT230R Evo VIII but an impressive time nonetheless for a car that is very much still in development.
The Sierra Sierra Evo is a bit of an enigma in the time attack world, like someone who eats their waffles with syrup and no butter (now THAT’S messed up). This car is built to FIA GT3 specs in a field of cobbled together tuner cars. On another note, this 8 will be retired after this season, as Sierra Sierra is already hard at work on an Evo X with a Cosworth built 4B11. Hit the jump to see some more good times from Buttonwillow.
