Another Ferrari 458 Italia Fire

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

With another Ferrari 458 Italia fire, I think they should rename the vehicle to Ferrari Fuoco (Italian for “fire”).  The 458 Italia is the hottest car from Ferrari since the Enzo, and now it’s officially been recalled for fire issues. Who’s got the smores? Read more at Tampa Sports car Examiner.

Ferrari 458 vs. Porsche GT3 RS

By John Coyle

Modena’s new 458 Italia has a gaggle of electronic nannies to help keep it under control, but Porsche’s GT3 RS is an old-school brute. So which is better? Evo’s Chris Harris drives both and decides! Watch the second part here.

Autocar Drives Ferrari's 458 Italia

By John Coyle

After getting to see it in person at SEMA, I have to say I think Ferrari screwed the pooch with the back end of the California. With the top up it looks decent… but topless it’s just a fail. Tough to say, but true. The 458 Italia though, looks stunning. Damn. Autocar has the scoop on all the sexy little exterior touches, and got to take the new Cavallino it for a spin. RIP the gated shift…

Forza and Gran Turismo Square Off!

By John Coyle

The video game world is vicious, and if they walked into the same bar, I can imagine the Forza Team and the Gran Turismo team going at it like the Hatfields and the McCoys. So I was entertained when I saw that each franchise has released tributes to Ferrari’s new bambino, the 458 Italia. Now, in the interest of impartiality, I haven’t watched either of these clips, and I’m curious to see which one you guys think is cooler. So hit the jump to watch both videos, and leave your opinions in the comments.

Mama Mia: New Pics of Ferrari's New 458 Italia!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Ferrari has released more images of its spanking new 458 Italia, and unlike the first batch of pics, they show the new Cavallino out in the real world, instead of the sterile confines of a photo studio. While it’s nearly impossible to take a bad picture of a Ferrari, I like the al fresco ones a lot better. The studio shots gave me an almost CGI vibe, which is probably due to the fact that even in person, the 562HP F430 replacement almost certainly looks unreal. Damn, I love the silky smooth curves of that real end! Head over to StreetFire to hear its engine note and watch Paolo Pininfarina explain some of the finer details of the bambino’s styling, and hit the jump for three more pics.

562HP Ferrari 458 Italia to Replace F430

By John Coyle

We aren’t going to get full-on porn shots of Ferrari’s 458 Italia until the Frankfurt Auto Show in September, but even though these pics are a little too CGI looking for my taste, I think it’s safe to say Ferrari’s 430 replacement is a stunner. Power comes from a 4.5 liter V8 producing 562HP and 398 pound-feet of torque, which is mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch, automated manual gearbox, which means the 458 Italia will be good for over 200MPH and hit 60 in less than 3.4 seconds. I’m not a fan of the LEDs in the headlights, but I love the sculpted back end, the triple exhaust and how fluid the lines are. What do you guys think? Two more photos after the jump.
