Mark Martin To Run eBay Motors Paint Scheme

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

The No. 5 car’s new eBay Motors livery is pretty great in that it combines two of my favorite things–NASCAR and eBay–but what’s probably a little more cool from a free-stuff perspective is that eBay Motors is running a contest to get a fan VIP access to the October 24 race in Martinsville, which is generally a pretty spectacular race. Anyone who signs up for the contest on the eBay Motors Facebook page with their eBay user id will also get that id emblazoned on car, presumably crammed into that spot on the hood with all the other contestants. Either way, I can’t wait to see the eBay Motors car out on the track.

Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Right now, I’ve got two giant boxes of swag stuffed under my desk right now, which should make all the Caption Contest winners pumped. I know, it’s about damn time! Unfortunately, I lost some addresses and t-shirt sizes, so if you’re a winner expecting swag, please don’t be upset if you get another email from me. Anyway, this week’s winner is G_Bay, who came up; Mine might be full of shit but, at least its got balls. Now generally, I don’t like to promote the use of profanity in this contest, but I’m a super fan of “bad” words, and this caption was too good not to win. Congrats man! Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

Most of the time, I spend the first few sentences of this post just blathering on about random stuff. But right now, it’s so gorgeous here in Southern California that I don’t really want to spend even one extra second in the office. Anyway, this week’s winner is Ciscos00ex, who came up with; “I like my wheels like I love my women!” Congrats man! Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our sunshine-infused Caption Contest!

Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

OK, straight up, our new CarDomain swag will be here early next week, and as soon as it arrives I will drop what I’m doing and walk my ass over to the post office and send it out. To all the winners, I’m really sorry it’s taken so long to get you your stuff. It’s my fault, and if I could blame it on anyone else, I would. But nobody will be happier than I am when you get your packages.  Anyway, this week’s winner is yoyoman1977, who came up with; Dude, watch the expression on her face when i put the gas nozzle in! It’s a little off-color, but still way funny. For everyone keeping score, I pick the winners and hate can be directed at me. Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

By John Coyle

Well, it happened. I’ve been riding my bike around Los Angeles since I moved here back in September, and Friday night, I got hit by a car. I was coming down Sunset Boulevard—in the bike lane—when some dude who was parked tried exit his space and flip a bitch. I didn’t even have time to hit the brakes. I totally launched over the hood and landed square on my shoulder. I got the wind knocked out me, and when the driver saw that I wasn’t dead, he drove off. Nobody got the plate, but my shoulder will heal, and my beloved bike was inexplicably unscathed. There’s no question I was incredibly lucky , so I can’t be too mad about the whole thing. Anyway, the winner of this week’s contest is KustomKiely, who came up with; “Now I can spend all day polishing my wood, and you cant say crap about it.” Bravo man. Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

Some of my friends from Seattle got into town yesterday, so tomorrow I’m going to take the day off and go to Disneyland. I used to go to Disney World all the time when I was in school, but I’ve never been to the park on the West Coast. Apparently Space Mountain out here is a little different than the one in Florida, but it’s hard to imagine it’s any less cool.  How can you screw up a roller coaster in the dark? Anyway, the winner of this week’s contest is GTWildfire, who came up with; “If the wagon’s a-shakin’ a dead man was fakin’!” Bravo, man. Even a week later, this image still makes my head spin. I can’t imagine what the driving dynamics of this Franken-van are like, but I know that if I saw it anywhere near me, I’d get the hell away from it as fast a I possibly could. That said, I’d like to let all our Caption Contest winners that our perpetually delayed swag shipment should be coming in any day now, and I’ll ship prizes out as soon as I get my hands on them. Thanks to everyone for being so patient. Anyway, this week’s winner is kiidstaytru3, who came up with; “I say she’s at about eight months…” It was a tough call, but that’s the submission that made me laugh the most. Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

When I announced last week’s winner, I wrote about how happy I was that the rain that had been pounding Los Angeles had stopped. Well, I guess I spoke too soon. Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain again. When I moved here, everyone told me it never rains in LA, and I was dumb enough to believe them. Seriously, for a place where it “never rains,”  it sure rains a hell of a lot. Anyway, this week’s winner is fatratmatt, who came up with; “Confucius say man who eat’s fat duck surprise, will find van too top heavy to drive. Nice work, Matt! You got extra points for phrasing your caption like a classic fortune. Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our additive-free Caption Contest!

Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

By John Coyle

Last week, I spent most of this post bitching about the crappy weather in LA, but as I write this, it’s a gorgeous 60 degrees, and it’s supposed to stay that way for approximately the next three years. Damn,  I just can’t stay mad at you, California. Anyway, the winner of this week’s contest is, ink-spot, who came up with; “Hey, it was the ’70s.  Everybody experimented with a little grass…” Way to go man! Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our completely biodegradable Caption Contest!
