A Dodge No More: Behind the Wheel of a Freightliner Sprinter
By Jim Brennan

I had the opportunity to road test the Freightliner version of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, and came away quite impressed. With this morning’s announcement that makes it certain that Dodge will be losing the Sprinter, Freightliner dealers will still be in the hunt, along with select Mercedes-Benz Dealers.

Not Found on Ebay: A Large Freightliner Pickup Truck
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
The years between 2003 and 2008 were known for a lot of things, but will most likely be remembered as the era of extravagance. Everything had to be big: movies that routinely grossed over $100 million, homes that had bathrooms bigger than most houses of the 60′s, celebrity salaries that outpaced the gross national product of most small countries, and everything from luxury yachts to exotic cars were reaching unheard-of prices. The Biggest Front Diffuser Ever
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
Daimler’s Freightliner trucks displayed an aerodynamic concept last month. This is the biggest use of aero parts (in a literal sense) I’ve ever seen.
I usually don’t find much cool about trucks like this but to see functional aero in this context is pretty cool! Rather than for racing use, this truck concept uses aero for fuel efficiency during long hauls by lowering the aerodynamic drag. It also uses an electronic adjustable suspension that lowers at speed to get even better MPG. More pics after the jump!

SEMA 2008: Cure for the Teeny Weenie
Meet the SportChassis P4-XL pick-up truck, one million tons of American steel, diesel and chest hair rolled up in a package that wouldn’t get down one European street. I am just curious why this thing was actually created. I mean, it serves no purpose whatsoever. It’s ugly and the fuel cost must be astronomical. Also, where the hell do you park something like this? My vote would be to park it at the local dump. Take it there, take it apart and throw the whole damn thing in the garbage. Yea, it’s that good.
