Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

While I was scanning through my news feed this morning, I stumbled upon this story about a guy who was saved from a pair of muggers by a pack of ninjas. Talk about luck! Props to the ninjas, and let’s hope the thugs learned their lesson. Anyway, this week’s winner is WannaBee119, who came up with; “OK they tranquilized her. Let’s bag and snag boys… them Dodge Rams are going to eat good tonight!” Bravo buddy, tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our ridiculously popular Caption Contest!

He’s a Winner in My Book

By John Coyle

For drama, it’s hard to beat crossing the finish line upside down and on fire, but Kyle Prokup definitely gets points for style. After he came into the last turn a little too hot during a kart race in the Mid-West, he pulled it out and managed to roll across the line backwards. Who cares what place he came in?  Bravo, Kyle. Read all about his racing on his blog.

Motorcycle Soccer? Yup, Motorcycle Soccer.

This looks like fun.  It also looks like a great way to get your legs broken. But what’s life without a little—or a lot—of risk?

Looking at this photo, it seems impossible that the poor van got as far as it did. But I guess you should never underestimate what a lack of braincells can accomplish. Anyway, while I liked some of entires with Star Wars references, this week I had to give it to totalkaos99, who came up with; This is the wrong way to shave your door handles! Funny stuff man! My best buddy lands in Los Angeles tonight, and I’m pumped to show him all the great things about this amazing city. He’s from Seattle, and while I know the tacos are going to floor him, the fact that you can buy booze in the grocery store will be a revelation. Anyway, this week’s winner is tdcparts, who came up with; “Free oil changes courtesy of BP.” Bonus points for keeping it current, buddy! Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our environmentally conscious Caption Contest!

iPhone App to Configure Your Rolls Royce Ghost

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Unless you actually need to use it as a phone, the iPhone is super cool, and there are tons of useful apps for it. But I don’t think the new Rolls-Royce one, which lets you configure a Ghost, was such a good idea. If  I was going to buy a Rolls, I’d want to makes decisions about leather and trim and such in a 19th century drawing room while drinking champagne with a sales rep that looks like Keira Knightley. But that’s just me. Maybe there are some Howard Hughes-type billionaire folks who’ll dig it?  Apple via Jalopnik

Motorcycle Leapfrog Nut Crunch

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

I generally write my own titles for blogs, but the one the user came up for this video—”Motorcycle Leapfrog Nut Crunch”—with was so perfect I just had to go with it. Now, it’s impossible to say what the hell these guys were thinking, but they might not have heard that Kobe totally faked his jump over that Aston Martin.

It seems like all of CarDomain’s Los Angeles crew is ill, except for me and Sully, one of our ad-opts guys. And while I don’t want to wish an evil zombie plague on my colleagues, the office has been super  peaceful, and I’ve been getting a lot done. Anyway, this week’s winner is DanCJ7, who came up with;  “Fine! You can have the car, I’m keeping the Jeep.” Bravo buddy!
