CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot – The 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2
By Jim Brennan

Welcome to the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a regular feature which aims to expand the notion of what a muscle car is, and have some fun in the process. There was some very heated debate about the last Grand Prix I featured in this series, so how about another Pontiac? During the 80′s, the Muscle Car was in the early stages of making a comeback. NASCAR racing was also on the rise at this time, and there was a resurgence in NASCAR-inspired specials–while built for use on the street, they could double as track cars with little or no modification. One such car was the Monte Carlo Aero Coupe, and the other is the subject of this installment: the Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2.

Tax Season Is Here, and That Means Car Parts
By David Clarke

With so many of us forced to scale back on spending, it’s lucky that there’s still that one time of year where we have the potential to get a big fat check in the mail. I’m talking about tax season of course! I’m always anxious to use that money on one of my cars, so not only are my taxes done, but I’ve got my refund back already. Perusing my wish list with check in hand, it didn’t take long to settle on black powder coating for my Grand Prix’s factory wheels and an upgrade to slotted brake rotors, also in black powder coat. Total for that is going to run about $630.00, which leaves me with a little refund left over to put towards gas for the summer. How about you? What are you gonna do with the money Uncle Sam was generous enough to give back?

By Jim Brennan
UDMan
Welcome to the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a regular feature which aims to expand the notion of what a muscle car is, and have some fun in the process. This has been an interesting series so far, with vehicles covered dating from the 50s through the 70s. What about something more recent, like a car that only went out of production late last year, and is still available on the lot today? Yes, there are new cars available for sale that fit into the muscle car category, like the Dodge Charger R/T, or the Chrysler 300 SRT-8. There is the Mustang GT and the Shelby, as well as the Pontiac G8 GT. But, did you know there was a powerful V8 Sedan, that wore the Pontiac arrowhead symbol, and was produced just before the awesome G8? Introducing the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP.

Very Schmancy: Grand Prix Limo on eBay
By Jen Dunnaway

I’m not sure that a 2005 Grand Prix is everyone’s idea of ultimate luxury, but I’m sure the builders got in a lot less trouble than this guy did when he converted a Ferrari 360 to stretched. Besides, the inside looks as gaudy and plush as any other limo. Check it out!

Post-Industrial Sublime

Check out Gwen’s Grand Prix. She did much of the bodywork and sprayed that luminous House of Kolor candy-lime and black two-tone. Not only did the paint turn out beautifully, she’s got some great glam-shots of the car amidst all kinds of interesting backdrops, including this dilapidated warehouse district in Buffalo, NYone of my favorite crumbling upstate burghs.

Pedal to the Metal
By David
AKA Highspeedhijinks
The design team at Audi has put together quite a ride: an all-aluminum body, leather-wrapped steering wheel, walnut trim…and pedals!? That’s right, the latest design from Audi to hit the market is a pedal car. Based on the Type C "Silver Arrow" that dominated the Grand Prix of Europe in 1936, this pedal car is a 1:2 replica and can accommodate any driver under 4ft tall. The car is made from over 900 parts, some of which make up the seven-speed hub gear that allows you to get more power for your pedal. What do you do when you get the car up to speed? No worries, there is also a hydraulic dual disc brake setup to keep you from wrecking your one-of-a-kind toy. Well, not exactly one-of-a-kind. Audi plans on making 999 cars in all, and as of right now there is no listed price. Audi just couldn’t put a price on your child’s happiness.

Incredible Grand Prix GTP
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
You don’t usually see this much work go into a nine year old car. But Jocelyn and Sylvie have gone all out on their 99 Pontiac Grand Prix, with new paint and extensive brake, suspension and engine mods. All the work has been carefully documented, and the car is almost done. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
