Hey CarDomain group owners! Want to send a message to all your members at once? Well, now you can, with the new Groups Bulletin feature. Just look for the Group Bulletin link on the left nav of your group page. Group Bulletins are messages that are placed in every group members personal guestbook. Only group owners can send a bulletin. Try it out and let us know what you think.

SEMA 2007: You Command, We Obey
By Jen
Editor
I vaguely remember this episode of the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series in which the evil brain Krang gets ahold of some kind of mind-control device that transforms the entire population of New York City into docile servants: the only thing they can say is "You command, we obey. You command, we obey." Anyway, that’s exactly how we roll at the SEMA show: YOU tell us what you want to see, WE go in and bring it out for you. Could CarDomain be any more at your service? Remember that this is the world’s biggest automotive trade show, that it’s closed to the public, and that it’ll be months before show coverage starts showing up in the automotive print media! So now’s your chance to get the most up-to-the-minute developments in the automotive aftermarket. One more time: go join our SEMA 2007 group, tell us in the forum (not here in the blog comments) what you want to see at the show, and post your tips and rumors for cool stuff that’ll be happening there. In fact, we’re so gung ho about getting you the content you want that we’ll buy Las Vegas keychains for the first 25 of you who join the group and post in the forum. So you’ll not only be helping to shape CarDomain’s coverage of the biggest show of the year, you’ll even get a souvenir from our trip! As you can see, there is simply no way to lose. Come join us at the SEMA group now!

CarDomain Groups: Top Gear in the House!
By John
Community Editor
I’m such a fan of Top Gear. I love the show so much that at one point, Rob actually had to put me on restriction from posting their clips. But now, I have to say I feel vindicated. Why? Because Top Gear just created a group on CarDomain, and they gave us a bunch of clips to post! How cool is that? Over the last few days, I’ve been tempted to go in and totally hijack that group, but so far, I’ve managed to resist. So don’t delay! Go join and start posting in the forumsbefore I get my grubby mitts all over them. But first, watch this video of the Hamster racing a sky diver!

Awesome New Group: Zastava Yugo Tuning
By Jen
Editor
Oh please, let this be real: a group for Yugo tuning. This is what CarDomain has needed since day one, and we’re stoked that our groups feature, along with its enhanced searchability thanks to the recently-introduced tags, has brought this display of Yugo solidarity to our site. We’re really hoping this brand-new group gets built out, though its authenticity is a little questionable at this point, especially since Darko, the group’s owner and only current member, does not yet seem to have a car. Let’s see what you got, bro!

The Group That Needs To Be Built: Daily Driven
By Jen
Editor
What good is a car you’ve put a lot of money and work into if you don’t drive it? Some of the coolest cars on our site are the ones that are modded and clean, but that still help pay the rent by getting our members where they need to go. A group to celebrate these hard-working daily drivers is such a cool concept, it’s no wonder that 29 members have already signed up. Daily Driven has been idling in almost-ready-to-go limbo for a while now, but I bet that once group owner Steve gets some pics and forums going on the site, it’ll be front-page material in no time.

Tags Now Live in Groups!
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
Hey, we just enabled all the tags in Groups! So now you can click on individual tags and see how many groups fall into that category. Turns out we have 33 groups with the tag Mopar. And we have a 115 with Chevy. Only 92 with Honda? What’s up with that? The SoundDomain group is sexy. Anyway, now it’s going to be much easier to find the group you’re searching for. Look for more improvements to Groups in the coming months.

Mopar Group Hanging Tough
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
Despite being knocked down a peg or three by the import tuner crowd, my Mopar group is hanging tough with 218 members (and counting). Each Monday for the last ten weeks I’ve been featuring a different member car–everything from a Superbird to a Hemi ‘Cuda to a 300 vert. Here’s the latest, a four speed 440-6 Road Runner, one of only 429 built. Wow.
So if you’re into Mopars, join the group and come hang out in the forums. We’ve had some pretty good discussions lately–about anything from rust to college football.

Totally Rad: The I Love The 80's Group on CarDomain
By Jen
Editor
I’m always up for a little shameless self-promotion, and this week, the cool CarDomain group I want to tell you about is SuzyBruisy’s very own I Love The 80′s. This group celebrates the many unique, durable, and ugly-beautiful cars of the Star Wars era, from the boxy four-bangers that got us through the last oil crisis to 80′s exotics and muscle cars like the Buick Grand National and the DeLorean. We are currently small but mighty, attracting a growing number of owners and fans of these and other almost-vintage Cold-War hulks. We’re also fixin’ up a pretty exciting forum discussion, touching upon such compelling topics as most iconic 80′s car (which John thinks is the Countach, naturally) and best 80′s car movie. Most exciting of all, we’re planning a real live all-80′s car show for next summer in Seattle! Come on, everyone loves the 80′sstop by and check us out.

The Group We Can't Live Without
By Jen
Editor
I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that the CarDomain Designs group performs a truly essential service for the CarDomain community. Owned by Colin, one of our very awesome Guest Bloggers, this group designs custom avatars and banner ads for other CarDomain members’ group pages. Colin has already produced some very impressive banners for both CarDomain Video and my I Love The 80′s group; check out his work in the forums. CarDomain Designs is growing rapidly, and Colin is hoping to recruit graphic artists and other tech-savvy types who are ready to show off their skill and help him manage the ad requests that will soon be pouring in. Way to go, Colin!
