Frank Manzo on Verge of Decade Sweep at Maple Grove

Top Alcohol Funny Car legend Frank Manzo is eyeing a tenth consecutive victory at Maple Grove this weekend with his Lucas Oil Chevy Monte Carlo.
“Winning all those races in a row is an unbelievable thing that I could have never dreamt of happening as a young kid. I would love to do it this year and say that I won every race in the decade, but I know I’m going to have to be even better and work harder for it this year. The other racers are going to work a little bit harder because I’m sure they’re tired of hearing about me.”

I just realized that I hadn’t written anything about Emilio’s Duster this season. So I just checked his ride pageand saw that he ticked off a string of 9.68s at Englishtown in May. Jet-X, The 1972 Plymouth GTX that Mopar Never Built

Here’s a car from the cover of the October 2009 Mopar Action magazine, and one that’s being debuted at Chryslers at Carlisle, July 10-12, just as this is being posted at BangShift.com. It’s Gary and Pam Beineke’s brand new creation, Jet-X. This is the 1972 Plymouth GTX that Chrysler never built, it has 440 Six Pack power, and if you are a serious Mopar fan, you’ll really respect both the story and execution behind this car.
