This year, 22-year-old Sheik Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar has invested $10 million into the Al-Anabi team of Alan Johnson. It’s been great for the sport, which has been hit hard by the recession. The team is competitive, too. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see these Challengers with the Drag Pak hit the track. The first two were delivered to racing legends Big Daddy Don Garlits and Larry Griffith. I just found pics of Griffith tearing his down. Ma Mopar is building 100 or so of these to meet NHRA requirements, and apparently all of the 2009 cars are sold. My guess is that a bunch of them will be mothballed by collectors, which is kind of a shame. But hopefully we’ll see the Garlits and Griffith cars on the track soon!

Ok, I take it back, the Audi ad isn’t my favorite Super Bowl ad, this Bud Light Lime ad is my favorite. Looks to be a ’67 GTX clone. I’m wondering if it came from Ted Moser’s Picture Warehouse. Maybe they just repainted this Belvedere and added the GTX hood scoops.
