By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Here’s a new video clip of Conrad Grunewald doing some preseason testing in the new Hankook drift Camaro at Laguna Seca. Looks like the car is coming along well, and boy does it sound nice…

Formula Drift Seattle, Part 2

Here’s a real dope R32 Skyline 4door that came from British Columbia (that’s Canada, to those of us who are ignorant Americans). More photos of this car coming soon! It’s so cool that you can register a car like an R32 Skyline, A31 Cefiro or C33 Laurel and just drive it on the street, legally in Canada. What the hell are we still doing living in Southern Cali, anyway? (Who am I kidding, I love Southern Cali…) Continue reading and view more photos on Motormavens

Formula Drift Seattle, Part 1

It’s really, really late. I just got to the Formula D “host hotel” in Bothell, WA not too long ago, where tons of the Formula D tour regulars are sitting out in the lobby and outside patios with drinks in hand, being loud and cracking jokes, trying to unwind from a long day at the track. However, some teams had a longer day at the track than others… when I arrived to the Formula D pit area, I noticed Robbie Nishida‘s Dynamic Autosports/Hankook Tire 350Z up on jackstands, in the dusty, dirt covered pit area of Evergreen Speedway. Apparently, just a few minutes before I arrived, Robbie’s 350Z made contact with the wall on one of his practice runs, severely damaging the left side of his car. Above is a photo of the car, with the hood, fender, and suspension off as the Dynamic team hustles to collect parts to repair the car in time for tomorrow’s main qualifying session. FD Vegas: From Zero to Hero and Vice Versa
By John Naderi

The fourth round of the 2009 Formula Drift Championship is in the books and what a scorcher it was. I think I’m supposed to write some sort of witty quip about the triple digit temps here, but truth be told my brain is still somewhat melty. And not from the heat, but rather the stunning points shakeup that went down in Vegas. Coming into Sin City Darren McNamara was leading in points but a mechanical with his Falken Tire Sears Auto Center Sky finished his weekend before it even started. Another shocking DNQ was that of 2005 champion, Rhys Millen. Just when we thought the points chase couldn’t be flipped any more Tanner Foust goes in it to win it after a rare DNQ at round three. Hit the video to see it all. And no matter what Tanner and Stephan may say, I am not a pussy, their NASCAR V-8 just happens to scare me a little bit, that’s all.
