Peugeot 106 Jumps Jaguar

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

Jumping the Peugeot 106 over a Jaguar is not hard, but the landing definitely is! Miscalculations during the ramp construction led to a bad trajectory for the nose heavy Peugeot 106. As a result of these variables, we have a byproduct of chaos. Read more about the jump at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

Exotics at Redmond Town Center: Bringing Cars and Families Together On Sunny Saturdays

By Sam Barer

Sound Classics

I can count the number of Lamborghinis I saw driving on the road in Washington State in the 1970s and 1980s on one hand. Hell, I can count this on one finger–which represents the time in 1988 when I followed a red Countach up Clyde Hill in my 1977 Chrysler LeBaron.

But now, with Exotics At Redmond Town Center, at 8:30 AM on any given non-raining Saturday any of us can see more Lamborghinis in one day than I did in twenty years. The same goes for Ferraris, Maseratis, Lotuses, and other high end vehicles. Read on…

Kitty Rolls Over!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

Looks like this driver panicked when the ass-end of his Jag stepped out after he came in to this bend too hot. Here’s a tip: when you’re moving that quick, a little correction goes a long way. At the least the guardrail totally helped. Or not.

Parking Lot Fail: Jaguar XK8

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

It’s a sad day when you see a luxury sports car as grand as the Jaguar XK8 be a part of a parking lot failure. Watch as this Jaguar gets driven over the curb. Dangling for its life like a cat stuck in a tree, the Jaguar patiently waits for the rescue team. Read more at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

Total Chaos!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

What can we say about this orgy of automotive destruction? There’s a Daimler limo, a Jaguar XJ6 Coupe, and a slew of  other derby-prepped rides with wicked paint jobs. Then they circle wrecking each other until it’s over! Oh, and in a world where virtually all of the music in car videos completely sucks, this clip stands apart. Seriously, using the theme from the Exorcist? Brilliant!

Et Tu, XJ?

By Dan Strohl

Hemmings

Had David LaChance, Hemmings patron saint of lost British automotive causes, spotted this XJ6 in the Clunker lot at Crossroads Ford Mercury in Ravena, N.Y., he’d have probably strapped himself to the bonnet and demanded safe asylum for the car in Coventry or maybe a pardon from the Queen.

It is a shame that a car which retailed north of $50,000 when it was new in 1995 is now on its way to a sodium silicate tea party. Other than a few unfortunate dents and a general lack of housekeeping in the cockpit, the XJ looked like it should be cruising to the country club not the crusher. Just 93K on the clock too. The EPA rates this XJ6 at 15 city and 22 highway with a combined mpg of 18, so it’s unfortunately a target for the government’s newest corporate/consumer welfare program. Eagle Jaguar E-type Speedster

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

This one-off recreation was built by Eagle, who specializes in restoring Jaguar E-types. The lowered and raked windscreen, lowered floor plan and seamless and flush body set it apart from the original. It’s motivated by a custom 300 hp 4.7 liter straight six. Like what you see here? Are Cars As Essential to the 4th of July as Fireworks and Hot Dogs?

By Sam Barer

Sound Classics

Most people say that a Fourth of July celebration isn’t complete without fireworks. Me, I say that it’s not complete without classic cars on parade. And again I spent the morning of the 4th at the Yarrow Point Parade outside of Bellevue, Washington.

First watch all the great classics (Corvettes, Rolls-Royces, Jeeps, Jaguars, a ’29 Franklin, Bugatti T57, and a Kaiser-Darrin, to name a few) parading down Yarrow Point, then sound off and let me know if your July 4th celebration included any classic cars!
