By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
One of the Chargers used in the original Fast and Furious is listed for sale on the Las Vegas Craigslist—fake blower included! The seller also has a bunch of other memorabilia from the movie, but no price is listed for any of it. So what do you think the Charger is worth? More pics and the full text from the Craigslist ad after the jump.

Rusty Hood Trend
By Rob Einaudi

As far as I can tell it started with the VW crowd, but now it’s spreading to the Honda tuners, too. Anyone know what’s going on here? And what do you think? Like it, hate it, indifferent? I’ve got a ton more pics after the jump. Oh, and if you want to do it to your car, here’s how!

Phantom Bantom on eBay
By David Clarke
highspeedhijinks
My obsession with rat rods is getting worse, and the very sinister “Phantom Bantom” isn’t helping at all. Created by Royal Customs, this 1938 Bantam packs the typical small block 350, but when this motor is placed in a car the size of a Mini and sits at a 45 degree angle, it looks massive. Check out the sweet way they bent the headers to look like bird wings. The kinked frame is the truly outstanding feature of this car, which is more than ready for the lead role in a Rob Zombie video. The eBay auction ends soon, so act quick!

Emissions Ruling: Law of Unintended Consequences?
Atomicalex
I’m going on record as against the ruling yesterday that states can petition to set their own emissions guidelines. The Law of Unintended Consequences is about to apply itself to car buyers in a really painful manner. Right now, if your car dealer doesn’t have the option set you want, s/he can pull from the entire US (or CARB pool) to get it. Once we get local emissions, you’re only going to be able to get local cars. Imagine the diesel debacle, only now it’s gassers, and now you can only get cars that are legal in your own state! Worse yet, emissions are going to be an options package, meaning fewer trim levels to choose from in any given local emissions zone. I’m all for clean air, but this is going to SUCK.

Rim Vinyl
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
I’m always interested in what the new trends are. I just like seeing something new… anything new will entertain me for at least a minute.
This year’s Tokyo Auto Salon brought a few new trends. One trend that I see potentially taking off is the concept of printed vinyl stickers for rim lips. The idea is not really anything new, printed graphics on vinyl stickers have been around for years. But the specific marketing and use of it on wheels is relatively new, especially when it comes to JDM tuned cars and Tokyo Auto Salon display cars.
I know where it’s headed ultimately, and its ugly. Within six months I expect to hate rim vinyl as much as I hate seeing Lambo doors on Ford pickup trucks. Most trendy things get abused and ruined very fast. But…just like I thought the first set of lambo doors was cool when I first saw them on something other than a Lamborghini, I’m going to put my neck out on the line and say that I think vinyl on rims can be cool if done right. Viper Trounces the GT-R on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I was expecting this one to be a bit closer, but when the smoke cleared and the votes were all counted, the Viper trounced the GT-R by a 2-to-1 margin in this week’s Showroom Showdown. Seems like even some of the Nissan guys are wary of the GT-R’s black box and warranty issues.

Here's Why You Should Never Run Over a Mattress
By Rob Einaudi

The owner of this vehicle came in complaining of a “shimmy” at high speeds. I guess 60 pounds of wire wrapped around the driveshaft will do that. More pics after the jump!

I’ve come close to buying a P1800 several times. Well, Steve’s car is a stunner. And it looks like he actually drives the thing, too.
