Jesse James is a Dead Man
Weston Henderson
I just had the chance to review the first episode of Jesse James is a Dead Man. It’s the new show by Spike that follows the chopper icon “Jesse James” through a series of challenges. The premise of the show is all about putting the hardcore biker through mind bending tests of human endurance that are designed to test his fear of death! In the first episode Jesse is pitted against a nitro-methane powered motorcycle, capable of moving at over 250mph and pushing over 6 G’s with nearly 1000HP under the frame. At one point they told Jesse that the G forces on this bike were great enough to knock him unconscious!

Monster Garage Series Finale Wagon on eBay
By Jen
Editor
For the final episode of Monster Garage, Jesse James and his team pulled out all the stops to produce this "ultimate old school wagon." The 1954 Ford runs a Corvette LS1 through a manual 6-speed and sits low enough on its fully air-bagged suspension to "squash a cigarette butt." It’s been chopped, sectioned, and frenched to the point where the original silhouette of the car is almost indiscernible, but somehow it all works. Even the flashy fade paint looks right on this low-slung grocery getter. There’s definitely a reserve price, but the seller is emphasizing that it’s not a flawless car, and that its main value is in its status as a historical artifact of automotive TV. I get the feeling he’s willing to let it go for less than you might think. Check it out!

Jesse James Goes Green

When Jesse James spoke at the NAIAS the other day, I thought he was being a little too snide in his remarks about the environment. But apparently, he does care. To bring attention to the possibilities of alternative fuels, everyone’s favorite bad boy bike builder is aiming to build the world’s fastest hydrogen-powered car. Here’s hoping he succeeds. Get all the details over at Hydrogen Cars Now.

This Just In: New on the Net

I’ve spent the better part of two days looking for a photo to go with this story, and I’ve officially given up. Some dude in Australia was waving at girls from a car when a passing truck ripped off his arm. The lesson? Ogling women from cars isn’t just rude, it’s dangerous. Here’s the news:
- One thing which never changes? People love to complain. These dorks are actually whining about not getting free Hot Wheels cars at NAIAS. Cry me a river: Mlive
- Bike builder Jesse James is more concerned about being fined for violating California’s emissions laws than he is about the environment. Big surprise: Auto Week
- Enterprise, National and Alamo are going to start selling carbon credits to folks who rent their cars. It’s a neat idea, but will anyone pony up? Automotive News
- Stunt driver Terry Grant just set a Guinness Record for tightest j-turn. Yup, there’s a record for everything. Check out the video: Car Scoop
- Tata isn’t totally sold on the Jag/Land Rover deal yet. Apparently they want Ford to sweeten the pot with some engineering talent: Detroit News
