Jet-Powered Scooter Races Lamborghini Gallardo
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
Which is more crazy? A jet engine on the back of a scooter, or the fact that engine is held to the scooter by a wooden box? Racing a jet powered Vespa against a Lamborghini Gallardo, this has to be one of the craziest races of our time. Truth be told, the scooter does a pretty good job. Check out more jet powered anomalies at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

Truly Frightening Ford Super Duty

Rob swears he’s seen this F650 somewhere before, but it sure was new to me. I’m pretty certain that it’s the only vehicle at SEMA whose wheels needed to be coned off for safety reasons. And, um, what’s with the jet engine in the bed? According to its website, “The Frictionator” makes 7000 hp and is the world’s only street-legal jet truck. More pics and video below the jump.

Maximum Overkill: Jet-Powered Ford F-150!
By John Coyle

When I first started working at CarDomain, everybody was going crazy over Ron Patrick’s Jet Beetle, so I knew you guys would totally dig this jet-powered Ford F-150. Builder Chris Lentz has wanted a supersonic truck since he was a little kid, and started on the project two years ago after picking up a ’50s era jet designed to power a Czechoslovakian L-29 Delfin trainer. And while the Blue Oval might not have the lofty performance specs of the fighter, it will run the 1/4 mile in a blistering 8.5 seconds. Sure, at full throttle, the 20-gallon fuel tank will be dry in four minutes, but something tells us it’d be a wicked four minutes! Check out the clip below to see it in action, and head over to Automobile for more pics and details on the build.
