Ken Block On Ice
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor-at-Large
This awesome new footage of Ken Block drifting his new Ford Fiesta on icy Michigan roads really makes me wish for some decent snow-wheelin’ weather here in the mushy Northwest. It also makes me wish NASCAR would have their Sprint Cup teams throw on some Blizzaks and run a race in the mountains, like in that beer commercial. Can you imagine a field of 40+ cars ripping it up around those turns?

Ken Block’s New Monster Energy Fiesta
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
It was big news when Ken Block decided to switch from Subaru to Ford, and lots of people—even Hitler—had strong feelings about the move. Personally, I love the 2010 Fiesta, and think the Blue Oval’s little hot hatch looks pretty sharp wearing the Monster livery. For the record, I also think “Vibrant Thing” is proof positive that Q-Tip should have never quit Tribe, but that’s a whole different thing. Anyway, we’ll have to wait until March to see this baby race in WRC, but it’ll make its competitive debut this Friday at the start of the 2010 Rally America Championship. Two more photos after the jump.

GYMKHANA TWO 2.0!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
I don’t know if Ken Block actually managed to top GYMKHANA with the sequel, but I still enjoyed it, and I think the director’s cut is great. Using Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades” as the soundtrack was just genius. What do you think he’ll do for part three?

Best of SEMA: Off Road Vehicles
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
I’m still coming off my experience at the SEMA show held about a week ago in Las Vegas. I have been tasked with coming up with the five best off road vehicles at the show. Well, a lot of attendees will choose a high riding pickup truck, but they are virtually useless off road because the axles could not articulate enough. Inside the main halls of the show, there were a lot of jeeps and other vehicles that were on display, and it was very difficult to single them out for nomination. On that note, here are my five distinct off road nominations:
- The Awesome Ken Block Subaru WRX Tracked Vehicle
- This Outrageous Viper Powered Sand Buggy
- The Mickey Thompson Rock Crawler with Wildwood Brake System on the axle.
- The ICON CJ3B
- The TAC-V JAMMA

Ken Block in the Subaru Booth
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Ken Block will be driving a Ford when he enters the fray of the World Rally Championship, but apparently, he hasn’t burned any bridges at Subaru. He was signing autographs in their booth this afternoon, and as you can imagine, it was a mob scene. But I did manage to get one decent pic.

Subaru at SEMA

Subaru made a big splash at SEMA this year with the Ken Blocks WRX on tracks this year. Nevermind that Ken Block went to Ford… More pics and video after the jump!

Sneak Peek: Ken Block's Subaru on Tracks at SEMA
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
The Subaru folks weren’t wild about us taking pics and video in their booth this morning. You may have already seen the first video of Ken Block’s Subaru on tracks back in April. We’ll come back and shoot more pics once they’re set up.

Ken Block to Compete in World Rally Championship!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Talk about big news: Gymkhana virtuoso Ken Block is heading to World Rally Championship. But since Subaru has dropped out of the series, he’ll be joining the Monster Ford team and piloting a 2009-spec Ford Focus WRC. Personally, I can’t wait to see how he does against some of the best drivers on the planet, because while playing paintball and smashing florescent lightbulbs with Rob Dyrdek—as he did in the underwhelming Gymkhana Two Infomercial—is a well and good, I prefer drivers to be judged by how fast they can complete a circuit, rather than how pretty they look doing it. Hopefully, Block’s pop culture status will make the fans who’ve so rabidly consumed his internet exploits tune into the WRC, which has been looking to get one of its Pilotis into the door of the lucrative US market. Check out the video below for some footage of Block and new teammate Chris Atkinson behind the wheel of a ‘78 Ford Escort MK2, and stay tuned for info on how he fares in his first race.

X-Rated Rally Games
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
The X Games Rally Super Special is history. Yeah, we know, this is not “real” rally racing or even a super special in its purest form. And its true that some of the “qualivited” action sports crossover competitors may not turn times as quick as many of the real pro ‘shoes, but it is X-citing and its good to see any kind of motorsport huck itself into the mainstream spotlight. Although this year’s super special was rather anti-climactic compared to the thrills and spills of the first four years that rally’s been at X. Kenny From The Brack Takes the Pole at X
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
Home Depot Center hosted the qualifying today for the X Games Rally Super Special. Because the FMX Super X configuration holds court in the arena until Saturday night Rally qualifying was confined to the outer perimeter tarmac section. To no one’s surprise it was an all STI/Fiesta battle. However what was surprising was that the Fiestas dominated taking three of the top four spots. Indy 500 winner and IRL Champion Kenny Brack put the Olsbergs MSE Ford in the top spot but it was only good enough for 5th place on the grid. Hit the jump to see why and you can also see more pictures as well as our video of Kenny previewing X.
