K&N Is Giving Away A 2010 Harley Street Bob

In conjunction with this year’s K&N Horsepower Challenge, our favorite filter company will be sending eight finalists to the races and then awarding one of them this ultra-bad brand-new Harley. The Horsepower Challenge will see the top eight NHRA Pro Stock drivers face off against each other in a series of eliminations. Each finalist K&N sends to the event will be assigned to a specific driver–and whoever’s paired up with the driver who wins the event will be the one who gets to take home the Harley. A Well Dunn Passat

From compact commuter cars and SUVs, to GTs and supercars, most in our “scene” have seen just about every imaginable car “upgraded”- with the possible exception (in my case) of Zach Dunn’s 2007 Volkswagen Passat. I must admit that I had yet to see one of these cars done right. And, since I seem to be in the mood for confession, I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been the greatest fan of VWs. However, the more I see of them (especially this one), the more they’re starting to grow on me. Zach’s 2007 Passat was the first I’d seen that had been slammed and enhanced with superior fitment – and that made all the difference in the world. K&N Typhoon Intake Install

Last week K&N shipped me a full Typhoon intake setup. I installed it on my car and have been testing it over the last week. The install was pretty easy and required removing the engine cover (which cannot be re attached without modification) and the stock intake piping. After removing the intake piping you simply install the K&N heat shield and intake piping. I have to admit, I now seem to have a few extra bolts, but nothing has shaken loose over the last week so I figure we’re gonna be just fine. I will say that I miss the way my engine looked, with the clean looking cover on it–but performance always comes first!

K&N Typhoon Intake!

Our buddies over at K&N sent us some sweet product to check out! I received the K&N Typhoon full intake system for my GTI and Jen got a drop-in filter for her Concord. Inside the box I noticed that K&N offers a horsepower guarantee on their applications and even states that if you don’t get an increase in horsepower they will refund the purchase price. My application is shown to provide up to 18.5 additional HP!
Here are some pics of the un-boxing and I will definitely follow up with a DIY and any notes on increased performance. Thanks K&N!
