Fireball SEMA Day 1! It's Open!!!!
By Fireball Tim

Clambering over mounds of insane car nuts, I scampered for the doors to SEMA. Elbow clocking, crotch kicking, upper cut chucking. It was a nasty scene. BUT, I managed to get in with only a broken collar bone and a head gash. Only 4 inches long right through the left eye. But don’t worry. I’m ok.
And what did my good eye perceive? … Camaros. Ug. So, while everyone’s posting Camaros, I’ll post other stuff. Like this! My hotel.

Fireball SEMA Day 1/2…
By Fireball Tim

So, into to Vegas I’ve come for COOL CAR SMACKDOWN!
Snuck in to see some of the best rides up close without the crowd since the show opens tomorrow. They weren’t gonna let me in until I told them who I was. Then, they DEFINITELY didn’t want me to come in. So, I jumped the fire encrusted SEMA fence and was nearly captured by vicious cockerpoos. Whew… The first non-surprise is that there was 250,000 Camaros everywhere. Lame. I mean, if you’re going to SEMA, and you want to stand out, then get the car that EVERYONE else will have. Make sense? Not.
But here’s a sneek anyway for what’s coming this week. So far, the rides are smolderin.’ From cool SCIONS from 5Axis to a Nasty Chrome Green FORD FOCUS from ma buddy Gary Watson at CNC. Nice job, G.
Old school, new school, and Detention. Yea.

Josh Herron's S14
Antonio Alvendia
I can’t remember the last time I was in Las Vegas when I wasn’t covering an event or taking photos for work. It seems like a re-occurring thing when it comes to traveling for me – I never have time to hang with friends or just kick back. However my recent trip to Vegas was non-work related and I basically had the whole weekend to do whatever and go wherever my heart desired! After receiving a phone call from my dad asking if I would like to accompany him on his business trip to Vegas for the weekend, it didn’t take me long to respond with an enthusiastic “Yes!”. Once I arrived in Vegas I wasted no time getting in touch with people, while making sure I contacted a certain Internet celebrity!
Enter Josh Herron. This young and talented videographer has made some of the most creative drift videos I’ve ever seen, while also averaging 200,000 views on each video, and reaching the acclaimed Internet celebrity status all before the age of 21. And I thought I was a media prodigy. Continue reading and view more photos at MotorMavens!

Bunny Hop!
By John Coyle

We heard about the crazy contact that happened while Ryan Tuerck and Katsuhiro Ueo were battling during Formula D Vegas, but this is the best footage we’ve seen of it. Apparently, Tureck was just inches from Ueo when he jammed on the brakes, and the resulting collision caused all four wheels of his Pontiac Solstice to leave the ground. In the post-run interview, Tuerck tells commentator Miki Taka the car jumped four feet in the air, and while it looks closer to two feet, it must have felt pretty wild.

So, the guys at the 2010 DIECAST SUPER CONVENTION want me to invade and spread car goodness… and cause a wee bit of nasty trouble. Well, twist my leg, yo. And… I’m off to Vegas in February! If you want to come to Sin City and get in on the insane car cool culture too, then do it. Hotel info and all that stuff is in the links. Let’s do coffee.

Vegas By Day
By Rob Einaudi

We didn’t really get out much during the day while we were at SEMA. We were mostly inside wandering the halls of the convention center, or holed up in the media room hammering away on our laptops. But Andy Thomason, who posts over at VWVortex, got out and about during the day while he was at SEMA, and he took some great shots around the city. Be sure to check out all the pics at VWVortex. This set is mostly buildings and exotic cars, but the Charger shot below cracked me up. Oh, and dialup beware!

Bullrun Update: Leaving Las Vegas
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I just got off the phone with John, who is rolling out of Vegas right now. They spent the night at the Wynn, which might explain why there were no updates from John last night or this morning. Yesterday they drove 470 miles from Park City to Vegas. Utah cops are onto Bullrun and were everywhere–John was rolling in a Lambo that got pulled over four times. Other updates: Mike is still driving the Fusion, and apparently the Team Angry Ferrari got fixed in Vegas at the Penske-Wynn dealership. They are headed to LA today and John is back in the SRT8 Jeep. He is promising a full report and tons of pics this evening, so stay tuned…
