Behind the Scenes of Tanner Foust’s Street Drift

A couple of weeks back, Rockstar Energy Drink dropped this dope clip of Tanner Foust taking his V8 Scion tC up LA’s legendary Mulholland Drive. As you can imagine, setting up this video was a big production, and Matt Farah and the guys from the Smoking Tire were on hand get some footage about how the shoot went down. Tanner’s people wanted TST to sit on this footage for a couple of weeks before they released it, but now the embargo is up, so we can all check it out. Enjoy.

The Smoking Tire Smokes Tires of 2011 Mustang GT

Last week, Matt Farah and the guys from the Smoking Tire got a chance to play with Ford’s 2011 V6 Mustang, and Matt said it might just be the most might just be the most significant car built in the States this year. High praise indeed. But in this episode, they get their hands on the Blue Oval’s brand-new 412HP 5.0 GT!  They  flog it on Mulholland and even get a chance to drag the trick Pony against the new Camaro SS. If you know the specs of these beefy pieces of American muscle, you can probably guess which one comes out on top…

Killer Evo X Road Test… Almost

Matt Farah from the Smoking Tire saw this murdered out Evo X at a recent Cars and Coffee—and its owner Russ actually invited him to drive it. In case you were wondering, good things happen when you have a camera crew. Anyway, the Evo was stock for a whole week before Russ took it to Road Race Engineering, who added some trick suspension bits and started tuning the motor. This black beauty is currently putting down almost twice the horsepower it was in factory form, so as you can imagine, it’s damn quick. But before Russ handed it over to Matt, he wanted to demonstrate just how quick by overtaking a a Porsche 996 Cup Car. And everything went exactly as planned. Yup, it was a totally textbook shoot…
