This Just In: New on the Net
By John
Editor
The days are finally getting longer, which is raising the tantalizing possibility of getting to both enter and leave work while it’s light outside. Of course, the more I think about it, that situation seems about as likely as giving up booze or converting to Scientology. Here’s the news:
- Sold! To the dude with way, way, way too much cash! The Ferrari FXX just purchased in a online auction went for almost 4 million bucks. Sure, the price is steep, but on the rare days the factory actually lets the lucky owner drive it, he might get to rub elbows with Michael Schumacher. Auto Express
- Aston Martin is opening a test facility at the Germany’s N?rburgring. Does this mean more podium finishes and happy customers? You bet it does! CarScoop
- Look, just because someone is a talented driver doesn’t mean they can’t look great in a swimsuit. Good guess, but no, I’m not talking about Tony Stewart. Sports Illustrated via Top Gear
- If you’ve ever seen some of the swamps which pass for roads in Russia, then you understand nobody over there takes pavement for granted. So once crews get started laying blacktop, they don’t stop. For anything. English Russia

SchumiTribute!
By John
Editor
Most of the time, the goofy techno which accompanies a lot of racing comps just inspires me to mute my speakers. That way, I can just enjoy the footage and not get distracted by how incredibly stupid the whole candy rave scene is. But in this tribute to seven-time F1 Michael Schumacher, I think it works. The random voice droning "Schumacher" is hilarious, and I like how DJ Ocram incorporated revving F1 engines into the mix. Of course, there’s also plenty thrilling in-car footage, killer clips of the Ferrari driver trouncing his opponents and great shots of him celebrating on the podium. Check it out.

Police Not Amused by Shumacher's Taxi Stunt
By John
Editor
Who knew German police were so humorless? Oh yeah, everyone. While the rest of the planet thought his commandeering a taxi and driving his family to the airport was a bad-ass move, apparently local authorities don’t agree. Autoblog is reporting that an investigation has been opened regarding the incident, and charges could be forthcoming. Hopefully the cabbie doesn’t get in trouble??we’re pretty sure Shumacher can take car of himself.

Schumaker to Cabbie: I'm Driving!
By John
Editor
When seven-time Formula One Champ Michael Schumaker and his family were running late to the airport recently, he didn’t tell the cabbie to step on ithe told him to scoot over! I guess when you’re one of the most famous drivers in the world, you can get away with that. No word on how fast the ex-Ferrari pilot got the hired rig moving, but the cabbie did say he got a fat tip! Classy move Schumaker! Check out the full story on Yahoo News.
